The Amazon isn't a big car but looks like a monster car next to everything else in the garage! 😀 0:54
That’s sort of my point aha. Do love the thing though..
I had 2 Amazon for almost 20 years, its a great car.
Oh that sounds great I can’t wait to
Drive this one
I’m looking to buy a 1962 Amazon here in Perth Western Australia. So very interested to watch your progress. I have always wanted an Amazon and have waited for years for one to come up for sale. Thank you David
Thanks for following along with this one. Hopefully more coming soon. As we clear some other projects out the way.
I wish you all the best for finding your own Amazon
Filling up fast there!
Slowly yes…
nice start marc
Cheers buddy didn’t have long but stay tuned for more as it gets interesting
Beltin project that Marc!
Cheers James appreciate that 👍
Amazing Amazon .. 👀 forward 2️⃣ the next installment 😍
Thanks David glad you like it also 👍
Wonderful to see work started on the Amazon, so nice that those front parts can be re-used and the dent is starting to come out.
Cheers thanks I am glad to have started this now. Can’t wait to continue and get her to the point it’s maybe time for paint. We have a long road ahead. Thanks for watching 👍
As a swede, this is interesting😊
I hope you enjoy the journey 👍
Car SOS did a restoration on one quite some time ago and may it may be worth a watch to get some ideas. She should come up a treat like all of your cars.
Yes they did, I will go back and try and find that one, thanks for watching buddy I cant wait to drive this thing!
@@SimpsonsClassics It was in season 2 Episode 8 and they did have to replace the front wings and Tim did find a wrecker in the UK that did have them plus other Amazon parts, but that was a while ago. The episode was called Danish Dilemma and I believe it was the only time the went overseas to rescue a car.
Great to see the Amazon restoration commence. I've been looking forward to this series, rust and metal work first, then to see her as an Amazon in Prime (paint) and then a Prime Amazon once your labour of love is complete. Sorry, Dad puns not the best! Best wishes Marc. 😀
I am glad your as exited about the amazon as I am. Like mentioned on a few videos this is a bit of a dream car for me so want to learn my way round jt and make it as nice as possible while not over restoring it. Stay tuned for more 👍
Waiting yo see the final product all restored and vthe road.
Stay tuned for more videos 👍
Marc that Volvo (apart from that front wing crease) looks incredibly straight. I remember borrowing my late step dad’s Volvo estate to drive the family across S. England to Wales many many years ago and it was probably the most comfortable journey I’ve ever made! Looking forward to the next couple of years on this one buddy! 👍
Thanks Phil glad you can appreciate how much of a good car this is under all that dirt and rust. I love a nice Volvo best cars I have owned by far. Stay tuned for more coming up shortly.
Phil , yeah so true , l hear the
suspension is out of this world😳
I'd say it felt good to make a start on it . Nothing nicer than a year down really looking forward to this build
Cheers buddy it definitely felt good getting started for sure and will be a nice break up project from all the minis
@@SimpsonsClassics it ment to say tear down 🤣 autocorrect again nice to see you got a few days in the workshop as well . Same as myself great stress relief
Much as I prefer Minis it is nice to see you working on something else!
Thanks Graham. There is always going to be minis on here but I have to serve my other love also.
Sorry if this sounds nasty, but I'm glad it has taken you 12 months to get started on the Amazon, because it means I'm not the only one who takes a long time to do things. I have a lovely '91 240 GLE waiting for me to start. I've had it about 2 years. Like Rachel Hunter, it won't happen overnight, but it will happen.
Cheers.
No it’s not a problem it’s only take me this long to start it as it was in storage and as you can see we have a few projects going on but it’s definitely on its way now can’t wait to get started on it! Your 240 sounds a great project also 👍
Gonna be a beautiful car when it’s done
Cheers buddy I do hope so 👍
People never clean there in arches and or behind the plastic shielding, i nag my sister about doing hers. When i bought my daily i pulled out it's own eco system, had wood lice living in the muck/leaves mixture 😂
This is very true no one really looks after modern cars in the same way which is why most won’t last to be classics. Don’t worry this one will be protected and loved once done
be a beautiful car real classic when it finished but there is a lot of work!👍
Cheers Kev I appreciate that I can’t wait to drive it!
So much potential there! Can't wait for the next vid....
Cheers glad you think so buddy! Stay tuned for more!
IIRC you need to take wings of before the front, but not been doing anything with a Amazon since 1983 or 84...so I might be wrong
Cheers it looks like you can do it either way. Stay tuned for more and thanks for watching buddy 👍

Thank you 😊
Man that dirt is worth a fortune to eBay sellers with ‘barn finds’
Sprinkle on +£5k
Haha you think? Let’s start the bidding 😂 cheers for watching 👍
I much prefer this Volvo to the 940 you had but that says more about my age than the cars themselves. The wings being £600 a piece tells me that they must be made of the same Tank grade steel of the originals 🤔
This is I guess volvos most pretty looking car and like you can tell a bucket list car for me. It’s definitely built like a tank and can’t wait to get properly stuck in. Cheers for watching.
Mate all that extra acceleration you have found withy all that weight loss 😂😂😂
🤣🤣
Maybe call this project Amy? - just a suggestion..🙏
That nearly was her name but we settled on Gloria 👍
Just a couple of weeks hard graft and you'll get here: czcams.com/video/vPuEolxeR_w/video.html 😉😁👍
Aha I wish. What a beautiful car that is!
Yeah automatic , when l arrived in
Australia many many years ago l
learned & passed my test in a
stick shift, 99% of cars here are
autos very few manuels. , because
of landsize. , my point is yes it is lazy
but enjoyable for the long distance
travel , so 4 minis & two Volvos so
far , r u attempting a world record
here? lol ? . So l noticed one error
you did not wash it at a "car wash
station" pity would have made a
great video & not a mess outside
of your garage , oh say moo ( hi)
to the cows for me ha ha ha ha
😳😨😱
That’s really interesting. Yes we have a few cars kicking about now. No world record just waiting to achieve all the cars I have loved aha yes I really could have done with a better wash believe it or not it’s been jet washed but it’s like cements stuck to the car.
