Oh for a time when a head would only take a week, I took mine into a shop in Vancouver last October and got it back in May! Much the same, new valve seats, replaced the valves, double springs and sleeves and stem seals.
Been working on mine for almost a year and will be fine soon. Mine is fuel injection, but runs rough.

Should have checked air mixture screws on carbs first, as the plugs where black and running far too rich.
Could have saved £85 on carb kits.
