keney hector Adidas was such a powerhouse back in the 80s so who knows? I feel like Phoebe Philo and Kanye really brought the brand back if anything. My dad and i were talking about how obnoxious the three stripes logo is on every adidas shoe back in the early 2000s and looks like the subtle minimalism adidas has implemented after the cosigns of thise two, proliferated the brand. Looks like Puma has followed suit too.

@@NachoAverageFinds theres a story of another player in the 70s that signed with nike and he had a choice of 100k or 5% stake in the company. His manager told him to take the 100k and he has regreted that to this day. Cant remember the guys name. Just imagina if jordan didnt get on that plane.

Well if anyone watched The Last Dance, Converse wasn't going to give him his own shoe that's why he didn't go with Converse. And he wanted a deal with Adidas but they couldn't afford to give him a shoe, I guess.
That Nike ad after they "banned" them was absolutely genius.
Wasn't the shoe prohibited because the rules stated that court shoes needed to have a white or black bottom? So the red rubber outsole is what violated the rules, it wasn't the black and red/devil colorway they want to keep insisting is the reason why they didnt want Jordan to wear his shoes. It was because it had a different colored outsole.
Gilberto Flores The NBA didn’t want a bunch of different colors on the court cause they thought it would be a bad look aesthetically. Up until that point all shoes were white based.

the NBA didn’t banned shoes, just the colors, NBA knew Nike was going to release the AJ1 so they warned them. The big question is which pair did Jordan use before the dunk contest, the Chicago, the Black Toe 🤔

May not was banned. But he definitely refrained from wearing the original silhouette in exchange for the white/red version that he wore predominantly for the rest of that season. Including that 63 point performance against Larry Bird and the Celtics in the playoffs to follow in 1986.
