If you're into bullying people at 2.3, you should really fly the A6M2-N, it's the Zero with floats. However, at the start of matches you can fly down and scrape the floats on the runway to rip them off, it takes a bit of practice but is really easy. If you manage to do it, you now have a 3.7 A6M2 at 2.3, and it's positively brokenly overpowered. Highly recommend.

I don't understand why only winning/killing is fun all of a sudden? You can still have a lot of fun dying, for example taking on a 1v5 and surviving for a considerable amount of time. Sure you may not get any kills, but you build a lot of skill juggling several targets at the same time. I would much rather fight a single opponent that I may be unable to defeat, learning new skills in the process, rather than click 6 clueless players out of the sky.

Sometimes I am going up against other people who give me a good challenge. It's not all point and click at clueless targets. Juggling several aircraft can be fun in the Yak-2 because it can handle it under a good pilot. Dogfighting someone competent is more fun than mindlessly clicking on people, because you get all the satisfaction of a good classic dogfight without having to worry about losing money or RP. This is why low tier is fun.
Even in ground this thing is hilariously good, it gets some pretty decent bombs and the armored belts for the 20mms turns you into a discount A-10 for 2.0. Its pretty banger.
This is the exact same gameplan I used when the P-38E first got its interceptor spawn. You just always start the match 1 kilometer above everyone and you keep it that way. And because it's a P-38 pulling off airplane snipes close to a kilometer of distance are pretty common. Even if they ain't dead after the first shot, something actual critically important is broken or on fire meaning that you can just leave them alone. It's a very satisfying way to play.

I feel like not even a Mosquito with 5 minutes of fuel would have that kind of turn. And the Mosquito is the twin engine infamous for its speed and manoeuvrability among its pilots. Gaijin is fucking wishy-washy with which planes it wants to "balance".
It was known for its speed and that it had good maneuverability for its size, but it wasn't outmaneuvering pretty much any single engine fighters and just to let you know, the Yak-2 is much smaller and lighter than the Mozzie. Heck it's smaller than a P-38 and actually similar in size to the F4U Corsair and has almost the same wing area while still being a little more than a ton lighter. To put it into perspective, the Mosquito when empty still weighs a ton more than a combat ready Yak-2. Its wingspan and length are both ~10 feet larger, and when ready for combat the weight difference is even greater. The Mosquito was a great plane, but it flew nicely much how the P-38 flew nicely and was known for its handling characteristics among its pilots, and I will tell you right now, a P-38 would outperform the Mozzie in nearly all aspects except CAS and dive speed and has a much better chance against a single engine fighter in a fight and stands a much better chance, even though not a winning chance in a maneuvering fight against a Yak-2. Mozzie is just too big and heavy to get into dogfights like that against smaller opponents. Only thing it has really is speed in those situations, and that is pretty well reflected in game I think. Same thing even happens in IL-2 soo...

These are factors that can't be applied to a game. Also the ones that got destroyed were reconnaissance variants and since 109s were easily capable of out climbing them and outperforming them in every way, they of course did not stand much chance, especially since only 200 Yak-2s we're ever built, and they only had 70-80 in service at the time the Germans invaded. The reason it does so well in game is because of it's attacker spawn which puts it far forward and ahead of everyone else. It also does well because people underestimate it, but if it actually ends up in a sustained fight with a decent 109 pilot, it tends to suffer. I should know, as I have flown the thing many times. It has good flaps that can catch people off guard, but it really isn't an overpowered plane, it's just that people dont know how to deal with it because most people just do ground attack in it, which it isn't really that great at in game, nor was it that good at it historically.
This is the same BR as the Potez 630/631, which has -Extremely underpowered engines (WEP dies above 2,000m, Horrid climb rate) -Poor engine cooling (Overheats above 90% throttle) -Low top speed -Zero energy retention in any kind of maneuver -Bad maneuverability -Low cannon ammo Seems fair!

Kinda unrelated, but the new ranked 1v1 mode for planes is very fun. Actually having fun in WT, kinda weird. Would like to see how a pilot like Defyn might do in the gamemode. It maybe will also allow new plane players to get some dogfighting experience (although only from similar energy state scenarios), which I reaaaaally hope might decrease the amount fo AF AA camping because they get more used to actual fighting... I can dream.
Not quite like dying in real life but if you aren't running with War Thunder premium repair costs can put you into a negative balance really fast. It's why there's a ton of Ju-288C spam, it's why people hover around their base relying on AAA to stall the game so that you quit. The repair costs for even an average K/D are negative if you aren't using premium.

I was using the plane but got shredded in dogfights and turning is painful, but the GUNS ARE OVERPOWERED 1 SHOT. At 4:11 exactly what happens to me whenever someone spots me only the oppent is much more maneuverable.

3:04 Technical question, why would you pipe the exhausts upwards near the leading edge of the wing like that? I doubdt it is VLC.
The only think I can come up with is making the plane harder to see at night from the ground
