I love watching people show and talk about their pencil sets. Pencils are awesome things. I love to see the ones they like and also why they don't like others.
I was seduced by the 240 set of Valour coloured pencils recently. I've been working on a picture with them all week. And that's precisely it, I'm "working" on a picture with them. There's little pleasure in them as they don't produce much pigment, don't layer very far and won't feather into each other seamlessly. They are also massively missing some vital colours. Caucasian skin tones are impossible, everyone looks yellowish or fairytale pink. As you finished off your video I picked up 2 random Pablos on my table and just coloured a small element on another page with them. The difference is immense. I have some lovely pencils, why did I think I needed to buy and use cheaper ones? I think I might actually pass these on. I can't see me using them and they take up too much space.
I too love Derwent Procolour. There's a knack to them but when you have it you can layer them forever, much like the Pablo.

My favorite pencils aesthetically are the Black Widows by FAR, but my favorite overall are definitely Prismacolors and my favorite budget set are the Art N Fly.

Lovely collection of pencils! I'm in the UK so polychromos are much cheaper than prismacolor for me so that's my go to, wish prismas were that price over here! Love my polys though I use them for everything.

Wow. I thought I had alot of pencils😂. Would a set of polychromos and a set of prismacolors work together?
Oh i didn't know there was a 120 of Schpirerr Farben. I have the 96 and honestly need to use those lol. I legit laughed the Holbeins are with the budget pencils teehee. Question: how come some of your pencils are turned the opposite direction in the case? Love your collection 😍 I love those Procolours! They are sooooooo awesome for hair. I hunted those darn ColourBlend and ooof. I probably won't replace them once they're gone.... my sanity.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts, along with your collection. I hated the Colorsoft! But I don't think it was due to anything I was doing. I think, in Amazon typical fashion, they were damaged during shipping. They were shipped in that stupid bubble envelope and half of them CONTSTANTLY broke! I gave away to my boyfriend's Mom, along with a coloring book and she ended up loving them. She had had a major surgery and the coloring (and puzzle books I got her) got her through the process. I LOVE Inktense too!!! And the polys. I love using my Lummies with my Prismas when I am at my sister's coloring. I don't allow her, or her friends to touch those pencils (I have several sets of harder pencils for them as they all really plow down on those tips, LOL). 🥰🥰
Just a head-up, the Artxx 126 includes the original 72. I didn't know or I wouldn't have purchased. But just so people here who might not know.
I noticed that you said that you can get Brutfuner and Crayola pencils open stock? I was wondering where you can get them?

Btw -There are no links to pencils in your video description, only cases. Schpirerr Farben come in 72 or 96 and there is an Etsy site where you can buy individual pencils. I just got the 96 set and really like them.

I love my Procolours too! I use them with other Derwent pencils, treating the Coloursofts and Procolours as one big set. I also use the Drawing Pencils with them. I totally agree about the Schpirrer Farbens, as well. I enjoy using them too. Like you I love my Polys and Prismas. Those are my top 2 faves. But it is so nice to hear someone who “gets” Procolours. Yes, they are hard pencils, but they are a joy to work with, layering and layering. Their colors are exquisite.
I have a question? I'm about to start Ivy and the inky butterfly, I want to use 1 set of pencils in the entire book, my choices are the schpirrer farben, black widows , or prismas, which do you recommend for that particular book? Or do you recommend something different.
Oh man, that’s a hard choice! Love all of those sets. I will say that I’ve had the best results with my prismas, but my second favorite are probably the Polychromos.
What colors do you use for skintones in your polys?
It really depends on what kind of skintone I’m trying to color. I don’t have a specific set I use each time. Im terrible about keeping track of which pencils I use too. Sorry I could be of more help.
