John, your comments and similarities to a baseball swing are much more accurate and useful than the differences pointed out by another viewer. In baseball, like golf, the trail arm is bent until about a foot after impact while the lead arm is is straight but not locked straight. This combined with an aggressive turn of the body will make a baseball and a golf ball go a long way..Thanks for pointing this out, enjoy your stuff.
By the way, a baseball will not go up unless you swing up on it unless you happen to hit the bottom of the ball with the top of the bat ( usually a foul ball). ENJOYING WATCHING

Thank you David. Maybe I should have said a baseball golf swing, not knowing enough about baseball itself but happy to hear I may have been closer than informed by another viewer.

In love with this!! Please, if at all possible, do more videos like this? SO much more natural, and promotes the concept and understanding of principles. It would be great as well please to link this baseball drill with both compression, spin, as well as shot shaping - if possible?

Many thanks! I’ll give it some thought. I try to vary between simple and technical, feel and real. Glad you enjoyed, hope it helps

I love your vids. And yes... sadly I have all of these faults that you discuss... (well some... ) The hands/closing clubface... they stay wide open (clubface) when I transfer this to the ground - even though the swing feels great.

Good drill. In order to lower spin rate, should we keep our dynamic deloft during the impact and keep launch angle about 13.6 degree in the downswing? If that is yes, how do we do it? There is a youtube clip saying that put your right foot a little behind and stay close stance may do the trick because the swing plane is shallow. Is that right?

The best launch angle and spin rate will depend on clubhead speed. To create a high launch and low spin ideally we want an upward angle of attack so shallow would be good and not adding too much dynamic loft. We will add some and that’s fine unless hands way ahead. Strike location being higher in the face will also help 👍🏼

I coached soccer in US. But, I would never go to UK and teach how to kick. Baseball is our soccer. Don't mimic..your instruction is completely inaccurate for baseball swing. i.e. there is no turn away from the ball, although there is a "load". There is no left straight arm. There is no hitting up..the angle of attack is 57 degrees for a line drive. There is no body then arms...just the opposite. The grip is different. You get it. Nice try.

Fair enough! Maybe I should have said a baseball golf swing. This drill works great for golf, so I was trying to link it to other sporting actions. Thanks for your comments. P.s it’s football not soccer 😂
