Schrödinger's Tetris. Both tetris players are incredibly skilled. Both players also have the full capacity to completely fill the other player's garbage bar to an awesome (in the biblical sense which means terrifying) degree, the other always having no garbage. Thus, when we do not look in the box(es), we must assume that at any given moment, each player is in a constant state of having a full garbage bar, and only one having a full bar when you look
One is fighting for dear life.
The other is fighting for the other's death.
This is ridiculous.
This is exactly how it feels like. You seemingly are the one with the wrong answer so you change your approach thinking you made a mistake and keep solving it only to find you got the same answer every time. You then finally check their answer then solve the way they solved, then see they forgot to carry a 1 over and that's why they have a different answer.

Yeah, RIP tetris friends on Facebook and standalone. I wish there was a modern medium for multiplayer tetris that was as accessible and balanced in the same way. It's such a shame that basically every popular multiplayer tetris experience has a line clear animation that takes five years now.
The only genuine issue tetris friends had was too many hidden lines above the board. It made center four-wide extremely dominant because traditional methods had to top it out entirely with garbage pretty much. It was still a great game despite that one questionable balance decision.
My mind can't really keep up or comprehend what the hell is going on but it's incredibly impressive nonetheless. In a mind flood-y type of way. Good stuff.

Tetris is stressful to play but incredibly satisfying to watch when you understand the techniques they are using. Also, 4 wide is such a chaotic game mode but I’m all for it.

This was an entire anime battle shown via tetris. It had the hero completely getting rekt in the beginning, gaining a slight power boost that surprises the villain, gets even more powerful so the two are fighting on even terms all of a sudden. But then his power boost runs out and the villain gets the upper hand, but at the last moment his power returns and is just enough to beat the villain. Full ass anime battle

That is on purpose to give them the time the check the upcoming pieces and devise a strategy for those pieces. This wasn't all reaction.

What's he doing when he's stalling and just rotating pieces without placing them? Is that a strategy?
It’s moreso to plan out what you’re doing with the next few pieces and to figure out a good setup for new ones later in the grab bag
It's because if you place your pieces incorrectly you may end up without a continuation for your combo, or missing a way to downstack, and lose. Taking a few seconds to think may result in a much longer combo or downstack wich cancels/sends a lot more lines, and keeps you alive.
Remember that even if you are almost topped out with 1000+ lines in your queue, if you can downstack/keep a super long combo, you will eventually outdps the garbage you receive and make a comeback.
Take a tetris for example: without margin time (increased damage after a couple minutes pass), without btb it will send 4 lines + combo number, meaning doing a tetris at 300 combo will send 304 lines. Now imagine a double tetris, or a level 2 btb tetris with 300+ combo. Over 6 minutes in the game. It will cancel/send over a thousand lines!

Ngl I think he is doing what CZsmall does best which is to capitalize on stalling a bit to think better and counter more effectively cause tetr has a send limit of 8 so he will not insta die like what happens in jstris.
also also, there's a hard limit on how much pending you have so he's basically wasting the other player's lines by stalling
