- Here we are once again, Wild West/Victorian Era expressions part IV. However, this episode comes with a bit of a twist. As some of you may know, I love animals. Especially prehistoric ones. Long story short, I binged evolution documentaries, landed on a pig or swine, and watched the progress in which they came to be what they are today. So I made it tie into what CZcams pays me to do. And that’s what we did today!
Enjoy!

2 pigs laying on the beach in the sun. One says, "It sure is hot!" The other one says, "Yeah, I'm bacon!"
great vid.
Love that. lol. I appreciate it Santee! Hopefully the topic didn’t make me look too much like a ham…
dammit!

Yet again St Andrew saved my Monday. Sir your videos are top notch entertainment! Thank you!
I’m glad you found it enjoyable! Thank you!
"Pig Sticking" was a unique entertainment invented by the officers of the Raj in India. The earliest known use of the noun pig-sticking is in the 1820s. OED's earliest evidence for pig-sticking is from 1821, in the Times (London). It is the sport of hunting wild pigs with a spear usually while riding a horse, hence the "stuck pig" similes. Cheers.
Thank you for the clarification! Appreciate it!
You ❤ Sir did it again manage to put A smile 😃 on my face thank 😊 you.
That’s fantastic, partner! I’m glad that it didn’t fall flat! Thank you for viewing, my friend!
You should do a video about the most badass quotes of the old west
Fantastic idea! I screenshotted this so I remember to do it!
Thanks, St. Andrew for sharing ! 🐷
I appreciate you watching, friend!
I like the coat and waistcoat.
Thank you!
My friend, that jacket....WOW...my words fail me.
My wife recommended you find a set of plain era correct glasses to maximize your already impressive countenance..
Why thank you my friend! I frequently visit antique shops so I’ll keep my eyes peeled for a pair of glasses that are reminiscent of that time!
Funny in that society's view of the pig is very low. "Stop making a pig of yourself. " "Pigheaded". "This place is a Pigsty." "You eat like a pig.". And so on. Historically, pigs are not very well thought of. Not surprising that many Victorian sayings refer to pigs. So, "I'm happy as a pig eating slop" for this edition of St. Andrew TV's contribution to the wonderful world of pork. 🐖
And a side note, feral hogs are everywhere here in the woods of East Texas, and though we blast em all the time, they're never scarce. My favorite test medium for new loads in my sixguns. Kinda like ballistic gel on the hoof.😂
Keep em coming professor, most of us here feel sayings and expressions of the era add to our knowledge, and in a way, helps keep the spirit of the west alive. So don't "hog" all the knowledge. 😂👍
Pigs always seem to get a bad wrap… well unless you get them in a blanket. Alright… I’ll see myself out!
And out in Arizona, we have the javelinas. They’re mean and I know with a lot of people, it’s on sight with them as well! I know in Tucson and other southern az cities, they can rip up your yard, kill your dog, and be gone by morning!
I appreciate you stopping by, Wade! I didn’t see you last week, so I’m glad I caught you today! Makes me happy as hog in slop seeing the OG’s of the channel!
Over here in dear old blighty we have a saying " that (person of choice) is as thick as pig s" *t "
And l know it goes back centuries.
Sometimes they'll tag on "and twice as smelly". 😂
Personally never heard that one before, but it definitely would fit in with in American vernacular! Might have to look into that one deeper!
