As much as I love the S55/58 nothing has a more pure sound in BMW’s lineup than the N55. I love my F30.

The best sounding F8x exhaust is either single turbo or having the equal length mid pipe. But for me personally the best sounding turbo engines are the n55 or b58 for sure.

Man oh man. I would've disagreed with you less than 24 hours ago. For years I had only heard S55, N54 and B58 powered engines in person.
Everytime I heard people say the N55 was the best sounding BMW straight I said "That's cap. It's the N54"
Never heard the N55 in person. Only heard it on videos until yesterday. It was in a F32 335i and man that driver was hauling ass.
This engine has a high pitch wine akin to a jet engine building up boost. When I heard that I was like "HOLY SHIT!! That's what the N55 sounds like it person? I take it all back. It's the best sounding straight 6 and it ain't close."
Its so strange I went so long without hearing someone drive that car with that engine the way it should. I've only ever driven an N54 and S55 powered car, while I heard a B58 fly by many times.
The sound alone from this car makes me want to choose it over an F82 M4 😂😂

@@TheZallene There isn’t a comparison! Get a N54 135! I’m just saying if you wanted you could put a blower in the 128 & make at least 450 whp! Plenty of guys out there with trick 128’s on the track that rip N/A❗️

Would you say you feel confident with the car? is it reliable so far?
ive had mine for a year now and no issues with engine whatsoever (75k-83k miles)
When I first got it, I was very confident because i bought it from the original owner since 2013 with full service records and no mods. Guy was also in his late 60s so I knew the car was babied it’s whole life. The usual stuff will eventually go bad like gaskets and such which I have to do my OFHG after 1 year of ownership. Even more confident now with the XTA suspension, michelin ps4s, and meyle front control arms. It’s hard to tell in the video but I was taking those turns with speed and this thing is literally on rails.
i got a 2011 with 60k in 2019. if the previous owner kept up on maintenance, you will be just doing gaskets, rotors, and pads. when you do gaskets, the corresponding fluids have to be replaced. i got around 6k in maintenance and 4k in mods like coil overs. some mods are upgrades in maintenance basically.
I did this exact upgrade, from e82 125i to e82 135i n55, its a very different experience you get, but the 135 is way quicker and yes the 135 will be more expensive in maintenance / running cost but for me it's worth it.

@@TOOEURO. Be pretty loud, but nice lol. I just got everything out of my car this past week, put in my new studs, billet block offs & my RB -6 AN feed & return fittings for water cooling. I installed my DG Autowerks coolant/power steering reservoir last night & all lines are tied in. It’s hot out but i think I’m going out there tonight & installing my manifold & start making all my water cooling lines for my turbo & gate. I’ll install my gate as well. Not much left to go now. Sorry for the book lol…✌🏻💯

@@augieko3949 i have a 135i n55 on stage 2+ and im making 20-22psi, i was running 9psi when i found out that i needed to replace my boost solenoid though so that could be your issue
