Oh man I'm excited for more videos on this!
Very informative, thanks! Do you know if rumors are true about a M20B27 eta block being wider at the bottom and taking stroker crankshafts easier?
Not sure about that. However the 2.5 block fits it just fine with 5min of grinding
@@TurbineResearch Thanks buddy!
Thank you for sharing such great information. I wish to know if you are using an M20B25 block. If not, would such a build work on a B25 block?
Thank you
Thanks 🙏 yes I am using an m25b25 block
@@TurbineResearch Thank you. You gained a subscriber in me. I will be following this build sir. All the best
Thanks for the info, do you have a link to those rods? The only part I’m stuck on is finding good quality 135 mm rods for my 2.9l m20 (m52 crank and 85 mm pistons).
I have another video where I unbox these connecting rods
@@TurbineResearch ❤
Great video. It’s cool that a BMW crank from a car decades newer will work in an M20. @jrcfj
1984-2004 🔥
Put out more videos about this
I have over a year worth of content coming for that build
Do you have the details as to what you used? More info on this build please! Primarily wondering why you didn't use m54 rods?
I’m planning to make 600+ hp/tq reliably so I bought forged rods. They are custom CP pistons and 135mm Hbeam rods
At 1:17 in the lower left-hand corner I believe there’s a crack in that ring I to am looking for more information on this
Are you talking about the intermediate shaft bearing ? They have a split in them by design
Anymore build videos on this? What cam you going to run?
More videos coming soon. Cat cams 285/285
@@TurbineResearch cant wait! Great videos.
I’ve heard about m57 crank for m20. Opinion?❤
No experience with the m57 unfortunately
hello, lovely and informative video. I am currently building an m20 with m54b25 crank shaft, pistons & rods, would I experience any similar issues to what you've just mentioned?
I don’t think you will have any issues with the m54b25 parts. The stroke is less than the b30 and it all should fit well. I’m excited you are using all m54 parts that is what I wanted to do originally
@@TurbineResearch thank you for the feedback. I've just subscribed to your content. ☺
What camera did you use for this one?
iPhone 📱
What compression ratio it going to be?
9.5:1 with a turbocharger
Hey does M20 b25 bottom work with M20 b23 cylinder head.
Not sure on this one
Not gonna happen. B25 pistons are high crowned. And b23 head is flat with no inward pool for 2.5 piston crown. The only way is to CNC machine pistons down flat.
@@XPbIM3 100 % correct sir. After lots of research I found out it is possible with altering pistons. Since the dropped valve damaged one piston it may be the only option. Thanks
@@wesleyfontaine3438 did done that to mine b25 for turbo. B25 bottom with machined pistons and b20 head. Result is somewhat 8-8.5 compression ratio.
@@XPbIM3 Thanks for the compression number my brain was melting trying to calculate the expected comp. I really thought the smaller combustion chamber would have bumped comp higher.
What pistons are you using?
CP Carrillo. I have a video on my channel of them
@@TurbineResearch thank you bro!
Any updates on this build?
Nothing on the engine yet as the car is being painted
@@TurbineResearch do you have any forum posts or write ups of all parts used and such?
There is no m52b30,but you already know I guess.
M54B30 :)
Is this N/A or turbo? And how much horsepower you thinking this will make?
Turbo planning for 600hp
