in a recent interver with Extra for Dr Doolittle, Robert Downey Jr was asked about returning to the MCU as Tony Stark Iron Man... and believe it or not, his response was the not the steadfast no you would expect, but rather, quite the opposite... while his first answer was joking, his second was much more thoughtful, were going to break down what he said about coming back, what a come back would mean for marvel phase 4 or marvel phase 5, and why you probably still shouldnt expect to see him in an upcoming Avengers 5....

I feel mixed on this whole thing.
on the one hand, I loved having all that Marvel stuff to look forward to at the time when the Pandemic was going on. It gave me something to look forward to when things weren't really going well for me. So it was a surprise comfort. And it was pretty good at first with the first round of shows.
But when things went on after a little bit, and there was a whole lot of stuff, I don't think I liked some of the stuff as much. And also i heard from others that there was just way too much to keep up with and a lot of people bounced.
so i'm kind of glad that they realized they had a quality control problem and are pumping the breaks on their output.

With all of the content they have planned from Deadpool 3 and Daredevil born again to Secret Wars I have full faith they will be fine

@@johnstrika9170 well they did already scrap the entire Daredevil show because they weren't happy with it. They said it was too rushed and it wasn't done right. They ended up taking their time with it and are now happy with what they have so yes I do have faith now. I'm hoping they don't let us down, we will see right.
Glad to hear Marvel knows what they did. Hopefully the new plan brings back quality Marvel content. X-Men 97 has been amazing and I hope that’s a sign of things to come.

I honestly had really high hopes for Ant Man and The Marvels, and while I don't think they weren't as bad as they've been reviewed (including by box office results), they definitely didn't do enough to revive the franchise after Phase 4.

I'm a DC fan always. DC is & always will be number one for me. That being said The MCU is not over. The problem is the stories their adapating & all these characters that we don't want to see, it's good every now & then, but not constantly. They need to do more Special Presentations to introduce certain characters instead of just introducing them in movies.
It shows a lot of courage and conviction to address their failings head-on. The fans need this to know we're being heard. I've always trusted Feige & Co., and this adds to my resolve in staying the course and supporting Marvel Studios

They need to do more of those Werewolf By Night type of specials. Focus on those more than TV series

They also made 2 bad Thor movies and Age of Ultron. Don't try to rewrite history or act like everything was good.

I think there was always a thought that they weren't giving projects the time they needed, but that shows how much one misstep can derail you for years.
Having this long between marvel content helps build up the anticipation
Some of us fans saw the writing on the wall since 2021/2022 and we were saying the exact same thing but we were told we weren't "real fans" it's good that both Quantumania and The Marvels bombed, at least they are learning.

I have hope.
I truly believe DP&W will be possibly the only $1b+ movie this year. Which will not only teach a lesson to the Disney higher ups but Hollywood in general that people will go to a rated R film.
Only time will tell.
Marvel still has Disney + which is a huge benefit if they use it right. Start making D+ shows about mutants as kids growing up. For example, Storm or Gambit or Rouge, or Juggernaut or Sinister or even better, Cable or Bishop. Imagine an entire series about Cable growing up in the future, 4 seasons, 12 episodes each, should take up about 2 years. The very first mutant saga film on the big screen is Cable going back in time to meet the full X-men team. Guys, tell me that wouldn't be crazy hype!!!!

On one hand...admitting mistakes were made is good. On the other being able to describe and detail what those mistakes were would give me more hope of meaningful change.
That being said, Wolverine and Deadpool looks outstanding and hope is higher than ever.
It takes some guts to owning up to mistakes that have been made, definitely gives me a much better impression of Feige and I think this is a great step forward!
About time! Although they’ve been realizing their mistakes and slip ups incrementally, it’s a breath of fresh air to know that they’re actually verbalizing it. Some YT channels just kiss up to marvel studios, never admitting marvel’s obvious faults. It’s other channels who speak to the contrary that are making the difference. They are making others notice why the brand is slipping, and are actually challenging marvel. I really do hope they improve and all in all this is positive news
The way I see it it there are three groups online those who’ve never stopped liking Marvel and think their quality is fine, those who exaggerate Marvels failures, and those who actually place Marvels failures. So that’s two negatives and one positive.
I sincerely hope Marvel had a bounce back. I'm really jonesing for a good marvel movie!
