There is a story behind but Sabaton is basically adopted by Poland thanks to the song 40:1.
The crowd is somewhere between 500.000 and 700.000 people...
That's the number of total visitors for the festival. Not for a single performance.

I'm pretty sure they have a song for most of the countries they'll ever visit. Would love to listen to Talvisota, White Death and Soldier of Three Armies live. Easy to love this band.

The drummer is Robban Bäck who later was replaced by Hannes. This is from 2012 at the Woodstock festival in Poland.

However,on the album itself the old members are still mentioned.
They open every show with Ghost Division.
This crowd is 500000+, it is free festival in Poland, used to be called Woodstock, now it is renamed Pol
and Rock.
If you get the chance to see them , go for it, you wont regret it. Watch some more videos from The Great Tour and you will get a pretty good idea of what to expect. Last year, they brought everything to Graspop, a festival in Belgium. Not sure how much they can ship across to your part of the world though.
Yea, they got sued by some US company for stupidity because they 'technically' own the name Woodstock. It's mega dumb.

For some reason wacken 2019 videos are all being blocked. Try the 40:1 from pol'and rock. (I believe the same concert) used to be Woodstock poland.

You should try Uprising from the same concert. The crowd is amazing.
When they say 700,000+ soldiers died in Verdun, the crowd for Ghost Division really puts that number into perspective.
Huge crowd. The whole band is smiling & their deep, combined voices sound like a whole army division singing.👍🤘🤘🤘EPIC!
Sabaton will always have a place in my heart. Apart from being a great band which write great music, they're from the same town as me, Falun. And I once met Joakim and the drummer here Robban, but that was before they got famous. Really nice guys and I'm glad their band is doing well.

Yep, this is in Poland which is **why** you need to check out 40:1 from this show. It’s special. That song is practically a second Polish national anthem.
You know you are both popular and well liked when you can go to Poland and sing about Blitzkrieg, AND the crowd sings along!

This is the song they opened with when I saw them in concert in 2019, in Los Angeles. One of the best shows I've ever seen!
huge crowd? not THAT big .. only 650 000 very happy polish people :D. This was from Woodstock 2012 and the festival was a charity event for Red nose day. And it also amazes me to hear so many Polish people singing along with a song about the Germans in WWII. the world sure changed....
Hannes joined the band in 2016 replacing Robban who replaced the first drummer just before this tour, Tommy joined in 2018 I believe to replace Thobbe, and they started using the tanks (yes, there used to be 2 - Audy and Murphy) for the Heroes tour. This tour was the Swedish Empire tour.
This whole show is absolute fire! Give 40:1 and Uprising from this show a go as well. And get your hands on the dvd/Blu-Ray .. you will not regret it (It comes with 2 bonus shows as well)
btw a mattress would be a great idea .. might as well sleep over and miss the traffic on the way back home..

I saw Sabaton live in San Fran in 2017 (I was with unicorn head guy, if you were there too), and they opened with this song. After seeing some vids of their live performances, this one does appear to be their opener since it is so energetic and sets the mood. Rock on all! \m/
I gotta love Sabaton love because the vocals are still amazing love as well as on the recordings. So many artists today sound so different live compared to their recordings

It's a music festival in Poland called Woodstock, it's made to be for free. The only thing you pay for is drinks and/or merch. It happens every year, and they also hold an annual fundraiser for childrens hospitals in Poland. There is over half a mill people there... every year. There was something with the name Woodstock, so it's now called Pol´n´rock.
And I would advise/suggest you check out more videos from Woodstock. The crowd is always insane. Almost no matter the band.

It is always good to see Sabaton! They have such an energy when they perform! One of the best live shows I ever have been was Sabaton playing here in Helsinki. So damn good! So you damn better go see them if you have a chance! Take a whole family!
At some point you need to check more bands covering Sabaton songs. Like a German band called Beyond Black. Instead of making normal cover for Sabaton they decided to go for an acoustic one. Fantastic band covering a fantastic band!

Ghost Division was the very first Sabaton song I heard ... I was hooked after this ONE song!
And this was back in 2008/2009!
One of my mates had been to a Hammefall-concert, where Sabaton was warming up. He thought Sabaton were awesome and send me a CZcams link to Ghost Division ... And the rest is Sabaton History! \m/ ^^

Sabaton are an entertaining bunch in many ways. Last year they had new album "The Great War" coming out. First single from that album "Fields of Verdun" was to be released on 3rd of may and they dropped a cover of the song by Apocalyptica on their channel 1st of may. How often do you see covers released before the actual song? They've had a bit more collaborations as well, Joakim was singing in the Apocalyptica song "Live or Die".
You should have reacted to 40:1 from this festival, it is about some Polish soldiers against only "some" more Germans. And yes the festival is in Poland.
You should listen to not only their original version of The Attack of the Dead Men, but the Radio Topak version (Russian) as well. There is an on stage collaboration between Sabaton and Radio Topak on stage in Russia as well that you should check out too.
I'm trying my best to get to the Las Vegas show in October 2021... Praying Covid is long gone by then because that's a show I just can't miss!
not sure if anyone told you but Sabaton's current drummer, Hannes Van Dahl, is married to Floor Jansen of Nightwish.......and they have a 5 year old daughter too....
For the xmas you should check out Sabatons guitarist Tommy Johanssons band Majestica. Their metal xmas album A christmas carol, and the song Ghost of marley. Awsome, and Tommy has some crazy high vocals.

Yes The 'Ghost Division" Was Rommel's Tanks and Mechanized Army. The Song refers to the Wehrmacht configuration during the Battle of France.

This song is my alarm clock, it's just so high intensity so consistently, I normally don't like that, I think that power can only exist through contrast. If a song is 100% constantly, it's indistinguishable from going 50% constantly, just like mountains are only high in comparison to the land around it. But for some reason Ghost division manages it.

This is 2012. The tank came later and the latest tour, The Great War (WW 1) they made the stage to look like a fox hole so all 2020 live videos have that stage, with the tank, the Fokker plane and gas masks and stuff :-))
You'll probably not see Sabaton's major live sets in the US as they don't get to play the large arenas but more indoor venues. At least so far...
Music really brings us together. Here is a Swedish band singing in English to a Polish crowd about German tanks in WW2 and the people love it.
Like someone else said, I think you'd enjoy En livstid i krig (A lifetime of war) live from Gothenburg 2020. Put on subtitles so you get an idea about the lyrics, though, as they sing it in Swedish as it's home turf. The song is about the 30-years war in Europe 1618-48 (?). Sabaton teaches me my own history :-))
Woodstock festival was a Polish festival (Now named Pol'and'Rock festival), so there you have your anser. Yes, they play in Poland. Sabaton is one of, if not even, my favorite bands out there (Albeit I'm a Swede myself, so a bit biased there). Got too many songs in my mind that you could react too, so I'll just say; React to any song you want from Sabaton. You could do a comparison reaction between Sabatons original and Amaranthes cover of "82nd all the way".
ALL the songs from their performance there are worth reacting to, even if you've seen the studio version.

I love seeing these huge crowds at Sabaton shows, I've only seen them in very small venues (I grew up in the small town where they started).
If you like great fan reactions, check out Nightwish's "I Want My Tears Back" from Buenos Aires. The crowd does a football chant for the band at the beginning. And you get awesome pipe action from Troy.
The tank setup was in their tour for 2019/2020/2021 if it every get going again due to COVID.
In the future when that happens you could upload it "unlisted", or to Vimeo/Dailymotion, and just make a video with the link and your thoughts afterwards.
You still get the traffic, but you get around the block-issue.
Hey, I think you might check Halestorm. They are quite good live performers from USA. They are more on hard rock then metal, I think. But very entertaining anyway.
Just an FYI: 7th Panzer Division led by the famous Erwin “Desert Fox” Rommel got the nickname “Ghost Division” in 1940 in the France campaign. They were given the nickname because they advanced so fast that they appeared were they weren't expected, and even German high command didn't always knew where they were.

@@nimasharifi7999 - Don't know, must have a look. There is kind of a "borderline" area just before Wacken TV came in to full swing and started blocking everything. It says "Magenta Video 360" in the lower right corner in those videos, they are half blocked / half not blocked.

Yeah this is from Poland in 2012 I believe I could be wrong about that date though 40 to 1 it’s possible that you were trying to review the 40 to 1 that had the self made a movie of the battle started world War two before the song that is the only way that I would believe that 40 to 1 would be blocked.
This is the old Sabaton; they changed people performers in about 2015/2016. Only Par the lead guitarist and Joakim the lead singer remained. That’s why you’ll see the new drummer Hanne; is married to Floor Jensen of Nightwish. And I’m told they have children and I suspect that their little girl from that marriage was in nightwish’s song called Noise music video only released on their latest album. But don’t quote me on that.
And from time to time the old band members will return for special guest returns as people do you like to see the old bandmates come back
