I just picked up one of the performance center 10mm. Took out to range fired 50 rounds of blazer and 40 rounds of 200gr underwood. Blazer all ran fine. Underwood I had 3 FTF with nose up malfunctions. After watching numerous vids I ended up putting Springer precision extra power mag springs and a 24lb Galloway RSA and took back out to range. 50 rounds of blazer, 60 rounds of underwood 200gr hardcast and 20 rounds of Underwood 220gr hardcast with zero malfunctions. Sucks you have to upgrade springs but it was cheap and seemed to make it run like it should.

I used the same Underwood ammo in the video out of my brand new stock Gen5 Glock 20. I Ran TWO boxes of 20 rounds, 200gr “black cherry” hardcast. Cost me $60, but I wanted to assure reliability in the Glock. Not one failure. The Black cherry rounds can be shot through polygonal barrels. This is my new bear defense while hiking out of bear season.
      GLOCK…. Still winning.

I have the same issue with my PC 10mm. I am waiting for my Galloway rod and spring, and wolff mag springs. My hot 180gr reloads do the same thing. Such a huge disappointment by S&W. I'd send it back, but I just don't have faith and time to waste fighting with them to fix something that should work right to begin with.

I used to have the same issues with my 200gr polymer coated hardcast handloads. APEX extractor + 22lbs Wolf spring + springer precision magazine spring has actually turned it into one of my most reliable 10mms. Of the 3 mods, I think it is the extractor that is the biggest game changer.

I just bought the 4.6” version. I have a 24lb recoil spring from precision and I can’t wait to get it to the range with some underwood ammo to try it out. Oddly enough the 24# spring from precision compared to the one from the factory, I can’t tell a difference when I cycle it. You’d think I could with a 8# difference in pull.
I’m hoping I have no issues.

Short feed lips are not necessarily a problem. The feeding needs to be timed very carefully. I heard smith and wesson magazine springs are the culprit but in this video alone you have more experience with the gun than i. I personally think i should be able to tune one up to feed reliably but at this point i am graduating towards the sig sauer since it has modularity that makes it more workable.

but, wait - aren't you the guy that put his .30 cal suppressor onto his .45-70? That sounds like USER-error!! haha! j/k...I think.
But seriously...I like they mentioned the mag maybe not being ideal design, and saw pinned commenter mention different springs in the mags. Just wondering if you did that, or did you just replace with mags of same?
And locking back...he had it happened but he instantly thought he might have been riding it. I believe I saw you do that with your Tanneritio, or however that is pronounced, yah? Do you have footage of your M&P and locking back - is it possible your thumb pushed it while firing? Or are you sure that wasn't happening? Not trying to pick or anything. Just looking to figure out the issues and whether there are any solutions or at least the causes.
Mags falling out is pretty scary. Any malf is. I'll be putting another 500 rounds through mine before I carry it again, or at least will have something else with me as backup (like I usually do anyway).

Do Underwood or Buffalo Bore offer any suggestions? In some cases they specify different spring rates.
Anyway Underwood and Buffalo Bore are special demands ammunition (bear defense) and cycling failures are good to know about, but for civilian self defense the question is whether it will shoot big brand ammunition like Winchester, Federal etc.
You have great recoil control of the 10!

We’re beating a dead horse here, we’ve been over this many times , if you can’t or don’t want to change the mag spring and recoil spring for heavier ones, roughen the mag feed lip to cartridge contact area don’t buy one, it will jam on the 2nd or 3rd to last round in the mag with full power(underwood) loads.

As an instructor for over 35 years, I have ALWAYS maintained that S&W make’s better revolvers and Colt makes better semiautomatic pistols. I have only owned one M&P 2.0 which was a .45 auto. I sold it based on the trigger pull after the first time I fired it. I currently have three 10mm’s: 1. EAA TANFOGLIO HUNTER ELITE with a six inch barrel.
    2. Glock M29
    3. Springfield Armory 1911 Operator. I usually carry the Springer. Especially in the Appalachian Mountains. I carry a lot of spare mags. If I need to be more discreet, the M29. I would consider the Sig X-Ten if it comes out in a compact.

Its the magazines. Its not the width of the feed-lips. Its the length. They are too short. The magazines were made for .40 s&w. The 10mm is too long in the magazine. I put about 100 rounds of 9mm NATO through it which is loaded slightly hotter then most 9mm you'll find on the shelf that seemed to do the trick as the range I was at was noticing my gun was not fully cycling. I.e it would cycle enough to chamber the next round but not reset. After that break in using hotter loads though it's ran flawlessly since. Granted one example for my particular issue. As for my 10mm I have the 4.6 and it's ate everything I've put through it. Haven't used hard cast yet as not in bear country.
