What is ASMR?
“ASMR (autonomous sensory meridian response) or TINGLES are a relaxing, often sedative sensation that begins on the scalp and moves down the body that are triggered by placid sights and sounds such as whispers, accents, and crackles.”
I remember my first time experiencing Tingles! Watching a friend of mine read a book while listening to him turn the pages and lick his finger as he turned each one.
It made my head feel soooo fuzzy I fell asleep right in the armchair I was sitting in.
My goal is to help recreate that feeling for some of you!

Since the top comment is related, let me offer my two-cents as an autistic person for why Cosmo appeals so much to me and probably also others on the spectrum.
1. No direct eye contact. One of the most uncomfortable things for me when watching ASMR is the eye contact, since it only really works if I'm actively watching the video and I don't love when my soul is being stated into. Since Cosmo is a puppet, it doesn't feel like eye contact!
2. Texture & colour. Cosmo and the other puppets are very visually appealing. I absolutely love how fluffy they look, and how saturated they are without being too eye-bleedingly bright (I love warm, saturated colours)
3. The structure of the videos. Unlike most ASMRtists, Cosmo doesn't do one trigger for long periods of time before moving onto the next. Everything sort of flows into each other and it feels like a natural progression with this channel, rather than a mechanical routine.
4. Last, but not least, the lack of humans feels like home. I'm sure I speak for a lot of us when I say that I have never felt quite connected to other humans. I am far more connected to animals and fictional characters, because people have sort of isolated and othered me. Cosmo isn't human, so it's like I have no prior experience with feeling isolated by him and am immediately welcomed by this fuzzy guy without a second thought.
Honestly, this whole channel just feels safe and welcoming. The real world can be especially harsh on neurodivergent people, and that's why I think we're so drawn to it.
