This scene was a HUGE character development for Shaun and his student resident. Even though Shaun has unique abilities and knowledge a good doctor needs to lose. Even though Shaun lost patients during his time as a surgical resident he has never lost a patient in his arms. This will either make or break him
The most important subtlety is that he sat down /beside/ him. Not across.
Freddie Highmore is an amazing actor.
Noah Galvin is a great addition to this show. He's so talented.
Shaun is the best kind of doctors..
Although he seems like emotionless robot but he does really care..
He is the kind of doctors we need in life...
It sounds nice but you don’t want an emotional doctor. Doctors have patients that die. Part of their job. If they are emotional it will affect them and it will lead to pain. I have a friend that’s a nurse and a patient died of Covid and she was alone. The next day it was like it never happened. It affect one’s mental health.
@@Trackrace29582 Some people do want their doctors to be emotional. Obviously not so that it affects the quality of their work, but it's nice to know that your relative was more than just a job to the doctor. They were a person.

One of the best scenes of this season so far. I love when they develop Shaun’s humanity along with his work etiquette.
Sometimes we all need someone to just sit quietly beside us. Someone to just be there.

This show(and 3 months of thought and self reflection) is the reason that my engineering degree will now serve as my premed major. I have always been empathetic and love helping people. It makes me happy and content. I'm switching to medicine now, I hope I get in.

Hi, I'm also currently pursuing an engineering degree, I'm in my second year. However, I'm also interested in medicine and wouldn't be surprised if I wanted to switch. Could you tell me what the process of switch majors like that is? Do u need to have a premed degree, or something similar to get into med school? Or is it all dependent on how well you do on medical exams like MCAT, etc?

I think I always knew Shaun would be an amazing Doctor since the time he helped that kid in the airport how he made a one way valve for him, I will never doubt Shaun as a Doctor. People make mistakes, even Shaun Murphy does

Ikr I disnt realise until like 3 days after the first episode he was in and I was like throughout the whole episode I know who that is why does he look familiar but I can't put a name to his face and then I looked at his story and I'm like oh wait that's Noah Galvin Holy crap
he made a bad judgement period. but i like how much he is willing to learn to lead and to teach his junior residents. both asher and jackson are impressed how he handled that stroke patient im sure shaun will be able to be a good head resident in the future since claire is no longer present. hoping for further character development

My dad used to take me along when he did his rounds on a weekend. It was awesome, the nurses doted over me, I always got candy. And of course - everyone asked me if I was going to be a doctor, like my dad and all my uncles. (And cousins and the rest of the extended family)
Of course I answered yes. I always wanted to be a doctor.
Then one Saturday one of his patients died. I saw his face when he walked out of the room to go and tell the family. I didn't go into medicine. Still hate the smell of hospitals.

Anyone else annoyed that husband takes back his wife, he should leave her. That is how i would write it.
This show is woke, which means under the woke narrative woman can do no wrong, yet when they write a male cheater into the script, they make the male cheater a piece of shit asshole, protraying the male as a typical selfish, uncaring womanizer, yet the woman cheater is brave, strong, and the victim, someone Worthy of love and forgiveness.
I'm not saying that woman deserve less, at least make it equal, if anyone cheats...that person, male or female should be labeled and treated the same.
The woman was sick that's why she did all those things

She might have lost her memory of her cheating, and also of the guy she cheated on me with, but that doesn't change who they are, or the fact that she cheated in the first place...once a cheater always a cheater.

@@polley015761 last week I spent a good share of time in a hospital after my son was diagnosed with not having covid they were not concerned about me having covid! There was hardly anybody in the hospital they had covid on the pediatric Ward! In my town they have shut down the covid wing that was created for covid! So therefore if we are all responsible for our own health and eat well and exercise take our supplements get rest and stay away from stressful people there are toxic to our immune system we will lesson the chance of giving getting covid! We need to bring up our immune system not to deflate it with junk food alcohol and smoking! We need to get our country back on track and stop focusing on covid and eventually it will go away! We need to shrink it mentally in our heads to disappear out of our existence! As a it is a mind and body connection to our existence combating disease!
