Hello Dr. Sam! Thank you so much for the detailed explanation! My dermatologist prescribed epiduo forte which has benzoyl peroxide and adapalene. At the same time he also prescribed an oral antibiotic, lymecycline. I forgot to ask him what's the importance of having both so when I stumbled at your video, I got the explanation I needed. I really appreciate your efforts and you look beautiful by the way. 💕

I went through a bout of pretty bad acne in my early 20s that left me with permanent scarring, and the thing that really helped was clindamycin gel. I went through two tubes and while I still get pimples periodically, I've never had the clusters of painful acne again. Now it's just maintenance with benzoyl peroxide products.

Super useful video, thanks Dr Sam. I’ve just started my third tube of Duac gel since August 17. Luckily it worked a dream on my acne (under the skin bumps, whiteheads and blackheads on lower third of face and down jawline, typical area for female adult acne!) I only wish I went to my GP sooner as I suffered in silence for 2 years and really lost my self confidence. I’ve been told that although Duac gel does contain clyndamycin, it’s okay to use long term. However I do consume fermented foods and kefir as a safety net or peace of mind really, as I don’t want my skin to become resistant to the gel. Would you advise my next step to start using a retinoid and azaelic acid as you describe here? Maybe every 3 nights? My skin is almost clear, I just have a few very stubborn under the skin spots, not cystic and the Duac just isn’t seeming to work it’s magic on them!

My skin got better, but everytime I try to stop using it my skin breaks out (and I do have smaller breakouts while using the epiduo as well), so I went back to my doctor and she wanted to prescribe a new round of atibiotics. So, I wonder if it will help this time since it clearly only worked temporary the last time, or should I get something stronger? Not great advice at all. I’d been on several types of birth control for 20 years to treat my acne. Dr’s always look for the bandaid approach. 3 years ago a dermatologist advised Roaccutane was the answer so I tried it. 6 months later my acne was back. There’s a strong correlation between gut health and acne. What these medications do is destroy the gut health. Focus on diet and environmental factors and see a naturopath. I’d never trust a general gp or dermatologist again. They’re all about bandaid approaches rather than seeking to ascertain the root cause! Very frustrating hearing this as their advice is poor. Research foods that cause inflammation such as dairy and gluten and start eliminating those foods. Stress can also cause inflammation in the body. Drs don’t help with this because if they did they wouldn’t have a job

For anyone struggling with skin problems here's what works for me:
Diet: Eat animal products, except dairy (reintroduce dairy after a month since this might not apply to u, observe any reaction and adjust accordingly)
Make sure to eat plenty of animal fat as energy fuel to avoid using protein as an energy source.
Avoid vegetables and especially grain of any kind. Contrary to what we have been told, these are not good for you. The brainwashing is so strong I probably am losing most readers at this point.
Avoid coffee and tea. The caffeine stresses you out and makes u produce more sebum, both, but especially tea has lots of oxalates, which accumulate in the tissues of the body and does lots of harm (that is the purpose of plant toxins, they don't want to be eaten and have evolved chemical defenses that only herbivores have coevolved to handle).
    Avoid sugar and alcohol.
Eating some carbs is fine, I suggest maybe one fruit a day and a few white potatoes and carrots. Like 1-3 potatoes or exchange one of them for like 2 carrots.
Eat organ meat a few times a week, ox liver is a great one. Skin problems are often caused by a deficiency in fat solvable vitamins, especially vit. A. People have been brainwashed to avoid animal fat where these vitamins are to be found.
Avoid fats from plants of any kind, these are terrible for ur health. This includes the overrated olive and recently coconut oil.
Behavior: Avoid stress and minimize masturbation to ones to twice a week. This has nothing to do with morality, but seems to be a hormonal thing. I've noticed masturbation causes acne.
Excercise 2-3 week. Cardio is good for circulation and the lymphatic system. Running, cycling etc. jumping is good for the lymphatic system. The lymphatic system needs movement and shaking since there's no pump like the heart for the vascular system. Sweating is also good for the skin. If u have access to a sauna this is excellent for the skin. Maybe once a week.
