One of my favorite things I keep in my hat is a tiny ziplock with a few ibuprofen and Benadryl in it. I can't tell it's there, and it's come in clutch a few times when I or someone I know gets a headache/allergies while we're out and away from home.

I'd slip a 20 and a 100 in there, every so often cards don't read or "the machine is down" but you might be low on gas in a road trip.
for sure...but since I tend to switch hats often..that doesn't always make sense lol. I would be like a forgetful squirrel.

Cables and adapters, _sigh_ I wish that wasn't a real every day struggle, but it really is. Seems like a good move to keep that on hand.
You should also look into the panther vision power cap. Ive worn one for the past few years and they are a vital part of my edc now. I use it's light more than all of my edc lights

The biggest drawback of a cap is that you can easily lose it, and the biggest drawback of the belt is that you can't easily access items in it, so actually this works only as a hidden cache for some stuff.
I like the idea of this hat - However I don't wear hats much - only when I need one - usually to get the sun off my face - usually when it is hot out.
My concerns are:
1- does the weight make it a PITA to wear
2- I would expect that the extra layers of the hat & the extra layers of the EDC would cause the hat to wear HOT 🌶
Any thoughts?
Looks good, but I dont like caps with adjustment bands in the back. They should do a Flexfit version
You need the security of the velcro imo...so it can be tightened enough for events that have a lot of wind.
A cool trick I have with the Alox Classic SD is to carry a (leatherman style ps) tweezers and the toothpick in a hollow paracord cut to length. I sealed one end and used a pin to cut a small hole a little lower than the seal, and with a lot of effort (and broken nails) managed to slide the paracord into the lanyard hole. Then I used a lighter around the paracord to slowly make the it tighter to make them fit snugly inside it. so now I carry it in my wallet and its about the same thickness and its like a small extestion to the Alox side. Im not sure, but you can try to do it and fit it in the cap as well.

Ah, that's a Wazoo cache patch in leather attached to one of the hats with a velcro pannel

I feel like the cap rides “high” as observed by the space between the hat and top of my ear compared to a “regular” cap. It makes it feel weird. IMHO
Thats fair! It can be purchased with a whole kit, and I think many of those items make it too big. You have to resist the urge to overfill.
I think my head's too big for stuffing extra stuff into my hat.
you will be surprised, I've seen some big heads store a lot of stuff in there.

I haven't found a hat yet that does not show sweat stains from my head on the hat and bill of the hat within a few weeks or month of wearing the hat.
That's why I like black lol.

@@maxlvledc apparently it is a common thing among EDC. I like the idea, primarily for cash and a paper backup I.D. in case of wallet theft.
Generally a fan of the channel. But to me the idea of storing things in your cap (especially inside) seems dumb. Surely the things stored in the inside pockets has to affect how comfortable it is to wear. And being able to look up and see things stored in the underside of the bill must get annoying.
Telling you. It's surprising, I've never felt uncomfortable or noticed.
