the best part about having friends who play commander is you can share each others decks and the game never gets stale
When I got my friends into Commander they didn't have any decks made yet. Fortunately I had like eight or so different decks to choose from, so they could still borrow decks while they're saving money to make their own decks.

True. Not a commander story. When I first started back in '08. My first serious attempt at a constructed was gruul lorwyn elves.
That weekend, I decided to try it out on my more experienced friend. To my disappointment , he destroyed me effortlessly.
Then we swapped decks. And he destroyed me again with my deck.😂😂😂
@@TripsAhoyback in 2003 when my dad taught me how to play MTG at 10 years old, he gave me his foil Rofellos, Llanowar Emissary (knowing full well it’s financial value and it’d likely get destroyed) to aid in casting high CMC stompy green creatures. I handled/played that card like any 10 year old would: on any mostly flat surface, including concrete.
Fast forward 20 years: I still play MTG with my dad on holidays and family gatherings and have since “replaced” the card he effortlessly gave to me as a child with a Beckett 9.5 slabbed foil Rofellos as penance.
Would be really cool to see your decks in paper. Would love for you guys to bring back shuffle scuffle
I haven't built a paper deck in a year or two but I still have 50+ ready to go. I always thought my cards are more useful in decks than in trade binders or shoe boxes.
Appreciate your perspectives on building. I struggle a lot when it comes to narrowing my focus and cutting cards. Hopefully I can get back to deck building again soon.

I have an ashnod, flesh mechanist deck and I love it so much. You get to do stuff every game and powerstones sometimes are sneaky ramp. I goes very well with the ring tempts you mechanic, i put the call of the ring and also the monoblack gollum there.
if you happen to run out of ideas, a series over almost a year in which you deck tech singularly each one of these decks maybe showing the real paper cards (in order to see the bling and the versions you like) would also be an idea I bet most of the viewers would like
43:10 - You can tap Rowan to get the trigger on the stack, hold priority, then cast the Fire Covenant. There's no window at all :-)

Selvala is my favorite deck. It was the first deck I built designed specifically to win before turn 10. I seem to find new ways to win with it all the time too. It is kind of sneaky in that it looks like it isn't doing anything then on turn like 3 you can just pop off, go infinite and win from almost no board state. The only thing keeping her out of cEDH is other than like Veil of Summer there isn't much counter protection.
You know, when Joe left the channel, I wasn't sure how things were going to go. But Mia has really grown on me and I still love the channel.

I found your beledros deck awhile back and used it as the inspiration for mine. The deck slaps hard. I often find myself sitting around 20 life until suddenly I’m not. Definitely abuses field of the dead but can still do well without it.
A cool budget card that could go in Vrondiss is Where Ancients Tread for another Warstorm Surge effect. Cool thing is that the enchantment deals the damage, NOT the creature so you wouldn’t lose the dragon token.

7:34 surprised you didn't mention willbreaker on here. Same cost as mind flayer, but you can repeatedly tap a creature for 4 mana and steal it at your end step once on each of your turns (Not even including other blink effects like ghostly flicker).
I love that the Tocasia running joke will never die.

@37:06. Poison was so rampant in my pod that I run Leeches, from Homelands, in every deck that can have white. I'm serious. I'll play with 1 dead card in my deck at all times just to deal with the poison people.....

I also have a Wernog/Bjorna deck and it’s focused all on clues. It’s such a fun deck to play. Also, Beezy is right, the mana base for a budget deck actually works really well.
I have a Narset deck similar to Beezy’s Balmor deck. Still pretty budget at around $60 as I really try to keep all my decks between $50-$100 if I can. The deck has the ability to go off and is so much fun. Never thought I’d have so much fun with a Jeskai deck.
I just got back into mtg and EDH has been a lot of fun. Only 4 decks so far. Im not sure if i can afford anymore 😂
First deck was scion of the ur dragon, then trostani, selesnyas voice, and after 10 years, selvala heart of the wilds. Edh wasn't really my cuo of tea at first but I have come to like it now

You guys should do a video on how to store your MTG collection. I've tried like 5 different sorting methods and none of them seem to work for me. I have maybe 6-7,000 cards and shoeboxes just don't cut it at this point!
One day I looked down and had over a dozen constructed mostly optimized EDH decks (not including pre cons), and one turbo bays cEDH deck. I would go to sleep daily thinking about possible interactions between cards and be on scryfall all the cracks of my work day…
To think that I have half as many decks as peeps who do this FT as their living is, um further consideration that I needed to dial back some.
Haven’t built a new EDH deck in months…still love the game tho
6:07 archfiend if dross is dangerous in jon irenicus. If your opponent dies from the upkeep trigger, the control effect ends and it will return to you, with no oil counters and you will lose at the beginning of your next upkeep.
There is no effect to end, it gets exiled when the player lose
It doesn't surprise me that your Friends Forever non-green deck was at least partially artifact based. After all, Breya is the "Nephilim" commander from C16 in those colors.
I love how you have divided your decks by build budgets. I could never do that myself, if only because I always seem to find a handful of cards that are outside budget that fit my themes. So I cave, and throw out the budget. 🤣🤣🤣

Wand of wanders is super scary for my Grazilaxx deck because it only plays 5 Highimpact sorcerys. Aka clone legion, rite of Replikation (you can still pay for the kicker), inscription of insight and conuming tide. The worst you can hit is spectral deluge if you are non blue

aragorn uniter is commander damage king... I've tried so many voltron styles and I built aragorn as just multicolored matters... and he was my first comander damage KO

I've started introducing 50-dollar uncommon, piloted commander decks into my pod and they stomp. people don't see you as a threat and you sneak in for wins.
Man, I really need to get int budget again. I always build cheap decks and then I enjoy them so much that I start adding cheap reprints. :D
We got a bunch of our friends to also keep 20s so it keeps us all honest!

Rowan might be sorcery speed but Fire Covenant is NOT.
Tap Rowan, then cast Fire Covenant in response before her ability resolves.
Then it doesn't matter if they remove her, hell it might be better. If youve got haste enablers you can cast her at reduced price and tap again.

Never got around to building my Ramos Door deck the moment he got released. The thing that stopped me is the "Why not just kill with commander damage when you have a dragon that big? Kind of a dick move to just sit there with lethal hits"
One of the most brutal graveyard hate card might be Night Soil
Yeah, you need 2 creature cards from a graveyard, but it can't be responded to because the exiling is a cost
Sometimes commander damage ends up being a plan with Ramos, but I think the fun is the challenge of hitting people with the door with this deck! If the door gets exiled though, big Dragon beats are plan B 😂

You sleep for jodah im very curious what you think of Ratadrabik (no idea if hes played alot) i have him full of legendary nasties and i made it a boardwhipe tribal deck op top of that. Throw in some token/death trigger doublers and yeehaw

I want to start making more hyper budget builds like you have ($20 and below), they’re super fun to build! Do you have any suggestions for how you find cards to fit that budget and how you make those decks? I think that would be a good video too
I build a good amount of $20 decks and I'll say that one of the first things you have to do is eliminate staples. Despite being printed in every precon and commander set, sol ring is still 1-2 dollars, which is way too expensive. Really consider what your commander is capable of doing, whether it's fast mana or combat damage or tokens or life gain, then use scryfall or edhrec to find cards for less than a dollar that help advance that strategy. Yarok is a good example, just search scryfall for < $1 cards that say "enter the battlefield". Cheap removal and ramp exists, it's just gonna be a bit worse than the premium stuff, but a good strategy can offset even those disadvantages.

She works really well with the top-of-library manipulation like Brainstorm, Brainstone, and Sylvan Library. There's other payoffs for Dargo like Up The Beanstalk that also works well with her

Only 38 ........I got 50 plus and counting .......started with wanting to build a mono color deck for each then moved on to tribal and now play style and just cards i got that seem like they would be fun commanders.

How does Kardur close out the game in a 1v1 situation? When you are down to 1v1 goad no longer prevents your opponent from attacking you and so your main strategy no longer does anything.
How do you count your budget for your deck, because every deck youre doing is always over the price its supposed to be (for example the jon erenicus deck is priced at 51$, not 20$ on moxfield
You have to sign into Moxfield and set your pricing to TCGplayer's. It automatically goes to Card Kingdom if not signed in. Sometimes they're a couple dollars over if cards spike but if they're a ton over, it's usually because people haven't signed in or aren't using tcgplayer prices
That's either an issue with the viewer not being logged in, or every once in a blue moon the seller might change and we just have to switch it back. But 100% of the time our decks conform to the price listed in the title

Love the clever names for some of your decks. Surprised you don't have more considering you play all the time and have a channel devoted to mtg. Why do you have some decks with specific prices? Why limit yourself to a $20 yarok deck for example?

i mean i have about 10 and the most expensive one is a bad treefolk (Doran) deck that is about 200 bucks. The rest are precons and slightly improved precon…. The total value of all my cards is 2.5k max… Maybe i should also do youtube… but i don’t have any idea what i should talk about or a subject i know my stuff…
