      @AP12360 Před 15 dny +6

      I agree. They receive custom cards in their language and there are signs in the airport telling them to declare items, but they still do not declare it. When people get caught, they play stupid or blame someone else. They need higher fines. If they get caught a second time, they should be denied entry for five years. This will help deter people from doing it.

    General rules for traveling:
    1. Research the laws BEFORE visiting a country.
    2. Obey all of the laws including answering questions honestly on your custom and immigration cards.
    3. Be respectful, you are a guest in their country!

    • @JohnnyBean78

    I wanna see the book thrown at travelers like this, but honestly, it's very unprofessional of the Aussie Customs people not to fetch a proper interpreter immediately when there is this much of a language barrier. The woman is belching and groaning like Godzilla, and the best they've got is "I don't understand you Ma'am"! The woman herself even went off and found a fellow passenger to translate at one point. Customs are responsible for part of this bedlam. But in the end a $360 fine for her cynical disregard for the rules, and indeed outright duplicity, is ridiculous.

  • @HamletM

    Why do they keep pushing the question if you know the contents or who packed it? I mean if you are responsible for everything in your luggage even if you didn’t pack, then why push it so much especially they are going to search anyways?

    Their tourists Visas are up, so they try to be smart and go out of the country right next door to New Zealand for a week, then come back and expect that they will be issued another Visa! Always a red flag to customs when people pull this one, because they already know that your working! Why go back again for months if you are not??! Another man did this same thing, and when he flew back to Australia, they started in on their getting evidence of work, and they found it on him, too! He was certain (as this idiot) that he was going to get another tourist Visa, he was even lying and telling people that he received his Visa, and was going to be there for another two months!! Why is he telling people that he got another visa, when he didn’t??! I would have loved to have known what he said to them after lying and telling them that he got another one, but he didn’t!! I hope Customs knows there is more than one Chinese language. Then, without an interpreter, they keep talking to the lady in English as if she is fluent in the language. That's just ignorant. For years, these officers have had language problems with their customers, the travelers, and little to nothing seems to have been done on that account, itself endangering Australia's economy. Based on the average numbers if passengers from other nations, every shift should have 3 Chinese speaking officers, one Cantonese and two Mandarin, plus one Vietnamese speaker, French, etc.. Additionally, not only do they need more forms, they need fat notebooks of ALL the common questions they ask along with ALL the potential answers in at least 25 different languages.
