A talk with Chopard’s co founder Caroline Scheufele about their ethical journey to sustainable luxury
During the Festival de Cannes, Eleonor Picciotto, founder of The Eye of Jewelry sits down for an exclusive interview with Caroline Scheufele, co-president of Chopard to discuss about their ethical journey to sustainable luxury. Being the official sponsor, it was also the occasion for Chopard to celebrate the 71th anniversary of the film festival. Inspired by her dreams and travels, Caroline Scheufele unveiled Chopard’s latest high jewelry collection made with traceable stones and ethical gold after committing that 100% of Chopard Jewelry will be ethical as of July 2018. She explains the challenges they have faced in the seven years that it took to the Palme d’Or maker to completely change their chain of custody in order to bring more transparency to the industry, to their clients, to the world.

Is this the woman who got compared to G. Maxwell (Epstein) because of madame like activities among her females co workers? Ethical gold as a project of unethical functioning business? It's a double bind - like Johnson&Johnson with their school projects in Africa, which were never finished, but were widly published by the project's start - to demonstrate how social generous the company is.
