Not often you get the creator of the game and the protagonist on the same couch
Here have a reply
@@xlixer7641 you know what? Make that two!
how is he the protagonist?
@@LudaChez Except mario is the protagonist. He hasn't re-skinned it or anything.
@@BlazertronGames that's the game. We're talking about the protagonist of life
*game crashes*
*everyone looks at Poo*
Poo: NOT ME!
My favorite part of the run
"This is probably the hardest level in the run" -Every Level
Hardest, fan favourite and most fun
And yet its somehow true lol
It’s because he’s forgetting that they get harder every time.
*Probably*
I would be afraid to donate 5 cents for every death, this guy donates $10.
He has around 4-5k subs on Twitch. He won't starve :D
Would be hilarious if at one checkpoint Mitch set down the controller and just watched Mario die for a minute or so
How many deaths were in this run? (Or how much did he donate in the end?)
How many times did he die though?
You'd be bankrupt before I got through the first level.
I appreciate how the level called 'Mount Moon' has an endless supply of blue bats that harass you.
Very funny.
i just got the joke lol
@@RobsRobotChannel like mount moon from pokemon, the bats being zubat
@@luleta1644Me too. Game's been out for what, like 5 years?
I feel like this run is a testament to how important the couch is
Not like Mitch is a zero or anything, though! This run didn't need to be "saved," but it's certainly enhanced by the commentary.
24:06
Poo: "Banger alert!"
Game: *dead silence*
That couldn't have been timed better if he tried
I love coming back to this run, this is probably the 7th or 8th time I’ve watched it. The energy in the room and everything else was fantastic, and I hope the world can heal and we can do things like this again soon. 🤞🏾🙏🏾
Glad I'm not the only one coming back to this. It's just such a good vibe, love to watch this run!
Gonna watch this every few months again! Apparently i do watch every gdq run from mitch from time to time again.
Come back here about once or twice a year, if I had to show someone what speedrunning and GDQ was about, it’d be this run!
The most impressive part is how casual this runner is at playing something this difficult.
The crowd here was amazing, the part where they cheered him on during the Bowser fight melted my heart
Most definitely, I love seeing audiences like the one in this video.
I know, was so heartwarming... really love the SMW community, probably some of the nicest out of all games
This is the best thumbnail you guys could have possibly chosen.
I love it. It is perfection.
A future relic of current modern art.
the timer changing back to 400 at 12:10 is such a neat detail for the 'breath-holding' theme.
31:21
"The water is exactly what you think it is"
"Mountain Dew!"
Well, at least part of it USED to be...
One of the best runs I've seen on GDQ. Enjoyed every second of it, awesome play and commentary.
the fact that Barb was in the couch made it so much better
Yeah, Barb is an awesome dude. I find myself coming back to this video every few months. Mainly because of his commentary and also the camaraderie and fun these guys are having.
That final boss fight is *insane*
It's a real nailbiter eh? It was so painful seeing him die so many times even through he was playing nearly flawlessly
*Heavy metal drumming intensified*
I'm going to have to see a therapist after just watching that....
Geeeeeeeese!
That theme thooo
Wow, this is an amazing romhack with some superb levels and music choices, and Mitch just absolutely NAILS it. He flies through most of this and makes it look so easy while every individual jump is absolutely impossible for mere mortals. Big, big ups to everyone involved in this run, that was incredible.
Was super surprised to hear a track from snowboard kids on the n64 in this romhack.
Yeah, Barb actually went all over the place for his music choice. Obscure games as well as popular ones. Neat
This is easily one of the best GDQ runs I've ever seen. The couch is so engaging and fun, and the run itself is really fun to watch.
LMFAO
“Banger Alert”
Game crashes
“That was not me!”
RIP GPW 2
I keep coming back to this and the blind kaizo race. Being able to witness this with the crowd makes me really miss going to the past two GDQs. Before the dark times, before the pandemic.
I realize it's not the point, per sae, but it's great to see a Kaizo ROM hack that ends up being a full-fledged Mario experience, just for insanely good players. It's definitely more entertaining to watch, and I assume that much more fun to play.
So the Subnautica Devs donated 5,000$!?! 12:20
Apparently they did
Ive just seen level one and im already scared XD
Welcome to Kaizo
Kaiconshiro - hey I’m a complete noob but how can I play this game?
@@mikea5205 you need an emulator for the right console and download the right rom hack...watch a good explained YT-video
@@mikea5205 smwcentral
What a run, and what a great couch to boot.
I love the way Poo speaks so respectfully of Mitch.
"Cause he's MitchFlowerPower."
It's just so wholesome that he looks up to him like that while also being his friend
This SMW/MM community is one of THE most supportive of each other's creativity in gaming. They're consistently pushing each other to try out new strats and design mechanics at every turn. 💜
the barb commentary on this is precious lmao
This is awesome, best community ever
I have watched this at least 4 times now. Its the perfect video. All the commentators are great, the crowd is great and obvs....the hack is great
Holy shit, Mitch CRUSHED it! Absolutely loved the couch commentary!
The level design and runner's skills are seriously top notch. Really entertaining
This was pure, amazing insanity!
This was incredible to watch and made my heart pause a few times with the more insane stunts you HAVE to pull off just to get through.
An amazing run and with some very fun commentators and a good-natured runner to boot!
Awesome video!
I actually liked watching this. I normally don't, but I think this hack was really well done. It was consistent throughout the game, varied and not using the same trick over and over again, and not terribly random or making excessive use of invisible blocks.
In watching these I have never seen a crowed this hyped in my life, especially this one
My brain cannot handle this. This is so incredible. 😰
I always can't wait for these runs and I'm never disappointed. Great as always, I envy these people for the skill they have.
I just want to say, I freaking love this run. I've watched it so many times. A fangame getting spedrun, it being featured on GDQ, having such an awesome community, all the commitment from everyone involved (runners, game devs, the fans). I love it all.
Shout outs to the TMNT water level music!
One of the best GDQ runs of all time.
So, Geese Howard boss theme fight as bowser fight theme, that is amazing and really gives a lot of hype!!!
I didn’t know about this game. But huh, even watching it make me feel anxious.
Check out its prequel & others like dram world 1 & 2. 1st playthroughs are fun to watch too because you see the trolls you dont get to see in speedruns
This was so amazing to watch! And HOLY CRAP that Journey To Silius music starting at 13:44! I was losing my mind hearing that old chestnut. Incredible run, thanks for doing this!

OMG, I´m so glad to watched it live on twitch and donated. This SGDQ was already amazing, but this run was one of the best things I´ve ever seen so far. Almost perfect speedrun, nice guys, nice crowd and an amazing atmosphere!
Greetings from Germany! I´m looking forward to the next GDQ :)
Quite awesome to see smw rom hacks on GDQ
The soundtrack for this is a retro delight. These are seriously awesome remixes of utterly classic--and fitting!!--tracks. Love the references to old games. Took me a while to get the underwater reference because of people talking over it... but.... I heard some snatches of the melody and thought "wait, is that...?" and it is!
This is a video I will be watching over and over. So good.
Favorite run of SGDQ 2019. Incredible
I come back to this video from time to time because the commentary is so damn good
OH BOY, YESSSS!!!!! I wanted this run at GDQ soooo much :) :) :)
I've watched this run so many times, and it never gets old.
Mitch is a Mario God , seriously
Literally one of the best of these I've watched.
that little zing of "helper couch" at the very last second before the cut was maybe the funniest thing that could've possibly capped off this run
I've watched this at least three times and never caught that. Hilarious
every once in a while I come back to this run! Its so good and it hype me up for GPW3 in about 20 years!
Developer talking “hey I made that to... then kills you”
The thought alone of playing this game fills me with rage
This was pure awesome. Love the variety of the levels!
I like how the composer took ATLAS' N64 game, Snowboard Kids, and found a way to get the music into previous gen hardware and keep its integrity intact.
I know I heard the tracks "Big Snowman" and "Nighty Highway" in there.
This game is so impressive! So many details and still so accessible to someone new! It’s hard, but it draws you into a great community!
Maximum level of entertainment watching this run.
Many thanks to all involved.
These music choices in the level are awesome.

Yeah, there's the song from E1M3 at 14:56 lol
I think I’ve watched this video about 10 times. It’s the best speed run I’ve seen but not just the game play but the commentary!!!!!!😊
What an awesome group of people representing an awesome game! Loved the playthrough and the commentary. YOU GUYS ROCK!
I love how they say "yeah, this section is pretty tight" like there were parts of the game that were NOT tight XD Like, the whole game (and this genre) was created to make people suffer and not have fun, lol. (Except game-masochists XD)
Amazing run! Congratulations to MitchFlowerPower!
This is the first time I've ever seen them have to swap out a console during a GDQ.
30:21 YUMP!
41:01 YUMP!²
The level design of this game is honestly incredible. So many stages are legit amazing. And this run enhanced by a good couch and creator commentaries... Excellent.
shoutouts to A Kiss for Geese as the final bowser fight music
PREDICTABO!!
I love the Actraiser music in a couple of levels! Such a cool bowser fight
I watched this whole thing recently and I'm watching it again because the couch is so good it amplifies the run to elevated levels of entertainment
Mitch is so passionate about SMW, it's always a pleasure to see.
57:09 Get out of my room 🤣
Easily one of my favourite runs this SGDQ, along with Invictus, kaizo speedruners are incredibly underrated and deserve all the respect they get.
Dode and Mitch are two God-Tier players.
Such an amazing run! Always fun to see the amazing game play skills of MitchFlowerPower, and the creative game design that powers it. Great job!
Love the couch on this one. Dev commentary is so appreciated!
This is probably one of my favorite speedruns of all time
This run was amazing and Grand Poo World 2 is easily the coolest SMW romhack out there! Barb is wonderful.
great one. love listening to these rom hack / level design masterminds. great players, and of course great couch to listen to.
Probably my favorite run from SGDQ 2019
Dude I'm on the edge of my seat for every new edit you release on this game
My dream is to have the power to say "bring me a new SNES" and a guy come with a SNES in his hands
This is the most satisfying, awesome Bowser fight I've ever seen!
I've finally found the time to watch your run. The fact you went for Observatory climb TWICE is beyond me! GG, it really motivates me to go bacl and learn the game properly!
Great commentary and amazing plays by Mitch, Hack also looks sick!
Really fun commentary and a lot of energy. Had never seen gameplay of this game but I was hooked because it was so fun to watch ^^
Was awesome having Barb there. I don't know any of these people but they seem important in the speedrunning community. Great watch.
Awesome work you all guys, was so nice to watch! All the work going in here is awesome! Keep on going
What a legendary couch
I must comment cause i cant believe how good mitch played, i know he practiced and all but lost way less than he should've. It really impressed me and i was expecting to see him playing great.
ORB! So glad to see this game made it, seeing parts of multiple players' marathon sessions on first playthroughs, and everyone being at different completion times and the whole "figuring out puzzles" factor was pretty nuts! I hadn't watched any progression on it from those first playthroughs and DAMN Mitch killed it!
That clock level was amazing!
Amazing run, great commentary.
So good, amazing entertainment, congrats to all involved, gdq incredible work
Those level 2 and level 4 songs from Snowboard Kids shot my nostalgia levels through the roof!
I knew kaizo romhacks like GPW and GPW2 exist, but I had no clue the depth and difficulty of it. Great romhack, great run by mitch, and I'm really glad to have seen this from a GDQ event
This soundtrack, wow.
It's so goooddddddddd.
This might be the new best speedrun at SGDQ. The chemistry between everyone commentating is amazing. They explain everything. The player is godlike, yet he shows some of the extra secrets even though he doesn't have to. The audience is going nuts and gives a great reaction to everything. It's just perfection.
All of them together made this probably one of my second favorite runs so far.
It's lovely when the public support the player
