The date on the cluster is correct... This video is from 2019, it's been sitting in the edit queue since, got to it today 😳 Also just noticed these are less than $50k today… you’d be getting an insane amount of car for that money.
I just drove a D4 from the CA/AZ border across the southern US less than 2 weeks ago. The highest you can set the cruise is 95, factory limiter stops the fun at 131 mph (in Mexico, naturally)
I owned a 2004 W12 and a 2012 4.2TDI. The W12 I had for 1 year and after i fixed the things that were broken when I got it it was ok until the exhaus mainfold had a crack and I had to sell the car. The 4.2 TDI I now have for 2 years and 15k miles, it never needed more than an oilchange.
It finally got up to the mid 40s today but raining all day and we took today off for Christmas. Till later Saturday it was 15 to 20 with 30 mph winds and snow and freezing rain. We lost power twice Thursday and Friday night early for long times.
I want to say back in fall of 2019, my dad got a company A8 with the rear tech package... It was the only car that we actually sat in the driveway and played with besides the C8...
Great review, you should do more. Special Guest Star Gabe. I have been a huge fan of the A8 since the early to mid-90s. Sporty yet understated 🥶Cold at 28F? In Minnesota, we just came out of a week below zero (wind chill -40F) so 10F today is tee-shirt weather
Yeah, you're so tuff don't even wear coats. Total bs. Got people there for lifetime, same thing brag about their cold weather like it's a badge. My dad left at 21 as did his brother and cousin and never looked back.
I know this is an old video but being a sound nerd… if you like the Harman system in that generation 7 series, you should definitely audition the Bowers and Wilkins Diamond system which originally debuted on the 2016. The option price was about 3300.00 at launch which is a bargain considering the drivers and even the Diamond tweeter hue very closely to the same drive units in the 800 Series Diamond home speakers which range currently from 8 to about 30k. Plus amps, crossovers and subwoofers all engineered by B&W to work with the system. The Bowers systems in the Volvo and Jaguar models are good (and the option costs about the same), but the Diamond system goes a whole leap from there. I know you mentioned a long time ago doing car audio system reviews and that one should definitely be on the list.
I had a 3 series and the manual shifting on the auto transmission was awesome and better than any other car. Pushing forward to downshift and back to upshift, the crispness, and everything about it. Everything else about the car was absolutely no better than any other car. And I've owned most brands & driven almost all brands. I know Audi has never been better than BMW.

So I fell asleep while watching this video and had a dream that me and JR got all the lights to go out on an early 2000s impala (with the ugly circle taillights) we stopped to celebrate at a Dairy Queen and I woke up. I can honestly say it was one of the oddest things that has ever happened to me 😂😂😂
It’s good to see JR and Gabe doing this kind of review which is aa nice relief from the super car reviews on many other channels. If you get the chance, you should check out the Genesis G90. The Koreans are making a strong move to challenge the Germans and Japanese with quality and price. Have a look at one and then you can give it a “JR score”😊
And this was for 2019 imagine how everything in the car is now for 2023! It's probably more optimized even faster dash screens and operations even though they're probably insanely fast now like you said fast is the iPhone if not faster, and probably more screens lol . If the self-driving was that good in 2019 it can only get better right? Heated arm rest?!? I thought I was spoiled in my car with heated seats .. lol need that heated arm rest!!! I was confused at first because I was like "man I must have missed a video I didn't see the beamer video!" I remember as a used car dealer that the auction lots were loaded with BMW and audi. All with less than 60k miles. Dashboards lit up with warning lights. And all could be had for 10 percent of the original price. It's as though they don't seem to care what a car is supposed to do. Give me a lexus any day.
Got a chance to see Genesis G90 loaded with massage cooled and heated seats for just about the same price of Audi 8L. You should look into the reviewing Genesis G90
Electrical switches for the doors seems preeetty stupid as it depends on power to open them... when in an accident and the pyrofuse blows, no power... or is that just power for ignition thats off? Either way I'd rather have a mechanical doir handle, but I guess it's not just "premium" enough.
