I hope you enjoy this final lesson in the series. It's the most complex subject matter but hopefully I've broken it down enough that it's achievable. Any questions or feedback or requests, please post below in the comments👍
Thank you so much for this valuable series. I've learned so much about perspective and how to overcome seemingly insurmountable obstacles. It was fun and very rewarding .
Wow, the best 7 series of tutorials I've seen by far. I've always struggled with urban sketching and now I know why, I try to put in too much detail but you showed us how to simplify shapes to get the best results. Thank you so much.
Your videos have helped me so much I can’t even describe! I’m a new uni student and have felt a lot of pressure having to produce loads of drawings in like no time. I was an extremely confident drawer before uni, but had all of that confident knocked, but your tutorials have literally changed it all round for me!! Thank you for all the work you have put into them, it means a lot!!
I really love this series. Even I am a beginner, I can follow the painting process because the tutor's teaching strategies and explanations are great! I am looking forward to watching more videos from him. Thank you!
You're a great teacher! This is just what I needed; someone to walk me through these simple points that are crucial to the composition. Thanks a million.
Best teaching ever! Everything is broken down into simpler pieces and enables a much better understanding of the sketch as a whole. This series is exactly what I was looking for to help me on location. Would love to see more with Phil Davies.
This is such a great drawing! It is brilliant that you explain your thinking process. To me as a complete beginner this photo is quite disheartening, and it is so interesting to hear and see how the professional goes about it. Thank you from Berlin Germany! 👍🤗🇩🇪
I recently decided to get into pen and ink work, so this was a tremendous help. Thank you. I love the effective looseness of the drawing, coupled with the watercolor wash. .
I have decided to go and pursue architecture and I am working on my portofolio. Well, it's been scary to just jump into a watercolor painting over a well build sketch that might have took me 2-3 hours to get right and up tight that might not even me similar. Thank you for the tips, the lesson over all, it helped a lot.
I can't believe I've been able to do these sketches, especially the last one! I have a left handed brain and have always struggled with perspective. I really wish you could do some more, 7 just isn't enough. Thank you it's been so enjoyable.
Thank you for this great experience of perspective. This last one was the most difficult but having been through the other six, this one was more successful. I’ve gained confidence. I found the series very well explained and and enjoyable.
Thank you very much for this series - it was extremely helpful and informative! The way you broke down the process was excellent and I was really able to see the building blocks for these sketches.
Excellent course I've learned so much from these tutorials ,and I have seen an improvement in my own sketching by following along with the instructions Thank you Art tutor
I am even interupting your video's you truly have an amazing talent , truly, and the gift to express it simple and easy, which it really isn't a simple kind of lk kind way JUST LOVE IT , FROM BELGIUM X
This is absolutely the best tutorial on simplifying architectural drawing I have ever seen yet. can you please add more examples. It would be nice to know the name of the artist.
Sir, About practice and confidence, you sturtled me starting with an archival pen, now I am wondering how are you going to coverup any mistake if happens. 😁 New to the community, enjoying your teaching, thank you very much. +1
There are 10 thumbs down... mah! I don’t get it! Are they envious or what? I watched 2 or 3 videos or yours my friend... and I’ve learned already a lot! Thanks
When doing an ink and wash I always find that yellow ochre makes some parts too opaque and blocks out the line work underneath. Really surprised that didnt have much impact on this sketch

That photo needs rotating 4 or 5 degrees anticlockwise. The centre verticals should be vertical.
They don’t NEED to be perfectly vertical 🤦🏼♀️

What considerations go into a decision to doing ink first, then color vs the other way around? Are there pros and cons for some types of drawings?
