That's how Carl Sagan addressed the public in an introductory letter about the Planetary Society back in the 1980s. Now Bill Nye (CEO) and Neil deGrasse Tyson (Board Member) reminisce about those days, talk about what we should call people from planet Earth, discuss how Neil's Cosmos TV show stressed Bill out, and tell us who the first humans will be to orbit Mars will be.

And the reason they're called Terrans is of course that they are from planet Earth. But since it's a fictional universe they (The Developers)'ve had all their fantasies to play with and decided to make a race different from humans.
So, they're simply their own race, Terrans.

The part where Bill mocks Neil's gestures is hilarious. When Neil becomes excited about something, it's like he don't control himself and while it's part of his immense passion for science, it's still very funny to see him that excited while going on with his explanation. His passion is contagious.

His idea of sending people to mars that early, is ridiculous. Completely abscent of the fact, that you can only, effectively, travel to mars every ?14? years because of the eliptic orbits around the sun... yeah, that's not gonna work. Just read it up, it's easy to understand.
BengoManiff Ok, I think maybe it is best if you read up on it. Every planet has an elliptical orbit around the sun, why would that change anything? Also, Mars is at its closest to Earth every 2 years, and that is the ideal time to send a spacecraft to mars. It takes around 6 months to get there from earth, and we can go once every 2 years.
Where you got your information, I have no clue. But it is very inaccurate.
