Alessandro Michele did some great things with Gucci. He was also responsible for some insanely hideous, trashy, ghetto moments for Gucci so I’m glad to see him go.
Heads up: we are moving away from saying “ghetto” to refer to something that’s bad. It has really racist roots! I’m sure you didn’t mean it, but if you reflect you can see how a neighborhood with a certain demographic of people being synonymous with trashy and hideous isn’t the most couth thing to say. Great take though, Michele definitely made Gucci more of the laymen and Kering certainly wanted Gucci to reintroduce itself as a luxury forward brand, not a vintage playground.
@@liamneels8197 stop telling people what to say/text write it’s Orwellian borderline fascism and stop equating ghetto to blackness that’s is racist because me and you both know that what you really mean!! FOH!!
@@liamneels8197 what racist roots does it have?
@@liamneels8197 heads up: stop being so sensitive.
@@milicadjordjevic4498are they being sensitive for educating others or are u being sensitive over being taught information that contradicts ur beliefs ?
It so difficult to say. I love the ridiculous looks that he brought to Gucci, it’s youthful & vibrant vs what Gucci’s original DNA of cool & chic like Tom Ford but nothing seeming to stand out on its own.
Today we need something fresh, outstanding and sometimes weird
Kering did a good job on catching the trend, creating media buzz
Michele made Gucci relevant to the new generation, he was the Tom ford of the 2010s
Nahhhhh hahahaha sorry but nah. Tom Ford changed all of fashion. The way celebrities wore clothes the way other designers designed and even advertising. Not the same at all lmao.
@@luckyblue3501 maybe you're right about overall impact, but he did what Tom ford did for Gucci in the 90s in the 2010s, which was to bring it to cultural relevance
Strongly disagree on his firing. He's elevated Gucci with his vintage inspired designs in my opinion 😢😢😢😢
Definitely left a significant mark! Are you going to be watching Gucci's Next work?
@@luxecollective - I literally purchased 7 vintage inspired oversized sunglasses and multiple cardigans and handbags from his designs 😢😢😢😢😢
He wanted To go for years because his opinion was not valued now let's see what they do with their products
Alessandro Michele is a absolutely brilliant and genius 👏 As a former Gucci employer i can say that he made it really desirable brand
I won't miss him. I'm tired of pink and purple strawberry Gucci. I miss Tom Ford Gucci. Hopefully he'll move the brand forward with some dignity.
Oooooo I see!! I'd love to see an TomFord Gucci era! Michele did crate a memorable effect introducing the marmont line though...
@@luxecollective Yeah, I'll give him that. But none of it was anything I necessarily wanted to wear or own. As where with Tom Ford Gucci, I WANTED IT ALL. I wanted to BE those girls on the runway in a black with the smoky sexy eyes. It was soooo recognizable. I still have pieces of his collection from the early 2000s and you just look at them and think: oh that is SO TOM FORD. I just don't think anyone after him at Gucci has done that.
Bravo c’è bisogno di un ritorno al minimalismo, dopo gli anni colorati e stravaganti di Alessandro Michele
you are tired of pink and purple which are exactly the colors our beloved tom ford introduced into de brand smh
I miss TF Gucci too!
I don't take Vogue seriously any longer.
okay, why's that?
@@luxecollective they have turned into meghan markle and kardashian shills. I have no respect for Vogue anymore.
I personally miss the Tom Ford Gucci days. When he saved them from bankruptcy. I loved Frida Giannini as well having a woman’s perspective on the brand there was so much strength. I could never understand Michele’s Gucci person and it was too Alice in Wonderland whimsical. But it was not until the twins collection from Spring 2023 that I got him.
Tom Ford elevated the brand
Michele's cruise collection was amazing! But i guess it wouldn't be unique if his modern designs kept going on. His severance with Gucci will probably make the pieces more valuable since it deviates from their standard classics
This is a good point! Are you excited to see what Gucci do next?
There is no Gucci without Alessandro literally
I think it’s a shame they have parted ways, I remember when Gucci was not the brand it was today, but taking the old style and revamping for a new audience was such a boost for Gucci! It will be interesting to see where they go from here!
Definitely will be interesting to see what they do next!
i think Sabato will need a few years to even realize what he is trying to do at Gucci
Loved the Tom ford era. The fall 1996 collection is why I love fashion and I’ll be happy to see a new perspective at this house.
Def going to miss him but always excited to see what’s to come. Alessandro transformed Gucci though. Tough act to follow.
Great mindset to have, I'd have to agree with you
I’m going to miss Alessandro because he brought back the chic to Gucci. It was never bland or boring. True artistry 😢
Alessandro Michele set the bar really high! New guy has big shoes to fill. No one will ever do it like Alessandro!
They'll definitely have to take a different perspective on the pieces!
Gucci should get a Tom Ford-like designer to bring it back to glory. The garbage hip hop culture has caused Gucci and Louis to appeal to a certain clientele because that’s where the money has been, even though the designs are trashed with bizarre logos and gaudy prints. It’s nowhere near elegance. They must’ve offered him a very lucrative contract to get him to come to Gucci. But seeing the recent Gucci designs, I wouldn’t wear the stuff if given to me for free. Gucci and Louis have lost so much respect from an aesthetic point because their designs are so tasteless, too ‘street’
Don’t nobody give a damn about what you think 😂
Thanks for sharing your perspective! I think streetwear has become a big part of the luxury industry and I'm not sure it's going anywhere...
How many dog whistles can you inject into a CZcams comment!
How did he pronounce Pier Paolo Piccioli? 😂😂😂
Sorry! Italian isn't my strongpoint lol
A new Directah
They need new people w new ideas. This brand has so much potential.
Gucci losing Michele was a bad move. The Victorian Era-inspired Geek Chic look he made is iconic and each piece is rich in story-telling, especially the jewelry line that won many awards! Sabato's collection has no soul, no inspiration, and when interviewed, he said he doesn't like jewelry and showed his Cartier bracelet instead....
Moreover, the "disastrous" fall winter collection featured in this vid was NOT designed by Alessandro, it was the in-house design team with no Creative Director. He did not run out of ideas, Gucci ex-CEO Marco Bizzari fired Alessandro last year and after realizing his mistake, stepped down.
Italian here hi all i heard here in italy is that michele was fired
Cause gucci had a very bad year.
But it was a firing nevertheless. Not a fight or a parting ways.
If they will not drop Michele Gucci will be saturated like Kors.
He was the director when I first started buying the brand. His interest in Focault and philosophy are what inspired me to buy their products.
To me, when I hear Gucci I think of the Tom Ford era. I don’t think any designer has come close since. Just my humble opinion
Excited that we might finally have and see menswear collections on the runway again! The past years Michele was in charge, there was always dresses and skirts and florals and lace and ruffles and silk and pearls and glitter and satin in the mens stuff!
It's time for stylish innovation in fashion. So many design houses are simply recycling and rebranding old looks. Also, some the newer designs are so theatrical and exaggerated you can't wear them in daily ordinary life.
Alessandro deserved better
where do you want to see him next?
@@luxecollective I’m hoping he’ll start his own label like Tom Ford did.
Good they got rid of him, the designs looked worst than disgusting when he was in charge
I miss Frieda Giannini and Tom Ford
i wanna know why Alessandro left out of nowhere!!!
Michele is very Gucci.
I miss Michele ❤
Looked like a bunch of ppl wear EXTREMELY BAGGY pants and the whole concept just didn’t work aesthetically or ergonomically whatsoever 😅
Never been a big fan of Gucci anyways
Will you be watching out for their next collections?
After the twin show that was a mistake to let him go
My opinion is his crestions were just too similar to miu miu
So I am an outlier when I say that I actually quite enjoyed the January show in the sense that I would invest in numerous pieces that were shown. I am excited to see where Gucci goes, I feel like a big emphasis will be on accessories as that is De Sarno’s speciality and was his domain at Valentino and Prada. Will I Miss Michele’s point of view? Absolutely but the brand needed something fresh and I think that De Sarno will bring the freshness and be more aligned with Kering as a whole.
they definitely need something fresh! I'm excited to see what they can do...
Gucci had a moment and Michele had his run.
Albeit, all my first luxury purchases were Gucci because it really resonated with me at the time - we are ready for something new.
I always with Valentino.
Yes! Gucci went downhill the past few years,it went tacky and tasteless. Hopefully this new designer will elevate it back to luxury level.
"tacky and tasteless"
I'm excited to see what they create!
I wanna see Sabato
Fashion needs to evolve..being replaced and being the replacement is the reality of the fashion realm. Let’s just all be excited for what’s to come🎉
i love the new gucci fw 2023collection
really?
I read this news a couple of days ago. D&G… I guess good he was “behind their scenes!” I didn’t find the January Collection as heinous as Anna W et al… EVERY brand has highs/lows; that Michele was able to generate such NEEDED profits in such a short span of time… Well, as I’ve noted; fashion can be a cesspool. Hopefully, he finds a more appreciative & better-fitting new home. Seemingly, no effort is enough for these brands. I’ve sold off all my vintage D&G due their ‘problematic’ past issues & cultural appropriations in past seasons.
I’d describe myself as hving very high standards for which designers/which years I’ll collect from. Full stop. But, to each their own 🤷🏼♀️
I can't wait to see what Gucci will do next. Although Alessandro Michele made the brand more appeal to the younger people, it looks cheesy and cheap IMHO. I like more classy Gucci vibes.
I support this move for Michelle to exit. It was very clear he ran out of ideas as the Collections in my opinion were becoming very predictable.
Gucci didn’t steal! Whoever pays highest price that creative director goes! Use ur word carefully. It is all about business
Whoever invented Lady Dior got my appreciation.
These brands have relationships with the fashion mags, and since they parted ways and are headed towards a new Era with a different designer, they would tell the magazines to poopoo the former's last collection as he moves out of Gucci.
It is politics!
Thank goodness! Gucci was looking like trash.
You look like Michele 😂😂😂😂😂
I see five to him hoping it will be more like Tom ford's gucci. 😄
me too!
Alessandro needed to go: his hero worship - started eclipsing the Brand. And it was remarkably stale. 🏁
It'll be exciting to see who's next!
Gucci style has been dragging for years nothing new a little bit of stolen fabrics and a little bit of design theft you can tell by the different colors that they chose other than a different style they needed a face lift absolutely
I bought my first Gucci necklace ❤🎉
Yayyy which one did you go for?
I’ve owned dozens of Gucci bags and even more shoes over the past few decades, but I haven’t bought a single bag in the better part of a decade and maybe only a handful of shoes also… Save for some clothing items, I don’t value the Gucci dollar. Gucci has polarized itself, with every item falling into the category of over-the-top-in-a-bad-way or the category of uninspired-on-repeat. I don’t see Gucci recovering in a big way tbh. It will never be Tom Ford’s Gucci again… so happy I kept a few of those pieces in my closet over the years. I feel Gucci’s best avenue is to be trendy and hope to create 1 or 2 “it” items for each season, selling to high-turnover luxury closets and influencer hype wannabe followers. However, if the plan is to return Gucci to its 1990’s splendour, capturing the magic of Mello and Ford… I wouldn’t count on it.
ETA: what Alessandro Michele did with the brand was epic, but grew very tired quickly, in my opinion. He brought back the Jackie, which was genius and created the Dionysus… so while epic, it was not iconic in any way… I think it was past his time to part ways with the brand.
This was a very thorough response thankyou. I'd personally agree with you on most of these points aswell... I'm excited to see what we see at Gucci!
This new guy looks like Kris Van Ache and he is giving me those vibes. I think he will make some good pieces and very wearable things but ultimately I’m not sure it’ll work out. Then again Gucci is not Dior. Gucci can turn boring things like what Maria Grazia Churro makes and no one will care for a seasons so long as the bags shoes and glasses are good.
Whoever was in charge of putting that black face sweater out there and anyone under that umbrella should go too
So much damage has been done
That last collection actually had wearable pieces, i didnt see antything disastrous, those vogue critics dont live in the real world, ill get that camel coat for sure, Michele was great and all but he has never done anything ever for real life
The main issue is that the heavy majority of the collection was boring, especially to those who've seen these types of clothes done better elsewhere. It should've skipped the runway and gone straight to the stores.
These pieces were definitely more wearable! I feel like Runway fashion is supposed to be theatrical and elevated items that you probably wouldn't wear on the daily 🥰
The new Gucci is HORRIBLE
De Sarno is going to do some great things with it, I just know it
Agreed
This man could be your cousin.
lol
I think Gucci needed a new designer im sooooo over those florals and Paisley designs and that 1960s retro looks so boring it was nice like 5 years ago but come on its 2023
I'm excited to see what they do!
@@luxecollective I remember when Tom Ford Revived Gucci I agree I'm excited to see what they do next I'm hoping they go back to being chic
We need the Tom Ford era back!
agreed, that would be iconic
No miss alessandro
Honestly Michele collections were cool the first 2 years, after that it was pretty much the same just weirder and the model casting was ugly and unhealthy, so I was never a fan and I’m ready for something new
So great watching luxury brands channel without hearing some typical posh accents hosts.
🥰
Finally!!
What are the best bags to get from Gucci? No one seems to have videos about them! Please make!! ❤
Jackie
At least Kanye didn’t have anything to do with it😂
Michele wasn’t creative he was a thief
New era all the way
I'm excited to see!
Dwight schrut clone
A handsome Italian Dwight though 🧐
Michele pronounced phonetically is: me kay lay
More like mee keh leh
Another collection of fast fashion..
never liked Gucci... weird design
I can’t with how you say “Micheli” 😂 it’s michelE, E as in Elefant. We read our consonant just as they are. Just like VersacE not VersacI.
Is michele the nee creative director for PUCCI? that's what i heard from BOF.
No. Camille Miceli is the Creative Director at Pucci.
❤️❤️❤️
Fuck yes so Gucci will get a much needed tougher look
I'm excited to see
Gucci will miss Michele and his creative genius for sure in future years, but I wish Sabato the best.
It'll be an interesting change!
Alesaandro is baked into the current Gucci DNA I’m sad to see him go
True, he did create an iconic era with the Marmont creations... but I'm excited to see what Gucci do next!
It wasn’t that bad are u kidding me ! And vogue is so out dated they need new blood ! Fire Anna WINTOUR
Who would you like to see at vogue next?
@@luxecollective any1 who has a fresh take to what Anna is doing it’s just same old same old it’s boring. U knw what her work will look like each month
Which village of UK are you from with that accent? lol
City - Liverpool
Im hoping to eat👎🏾😁✅
*Piccioli
Ikr ? The pronunciation was terrible 😂
my bad
Love your vids but i think you need to speak more properly and not like you have food in your mouth 😓 AND PRONUNCE CORRECT THE ITALIAN WORDS MY GOD!
i beverlije Michelle. Repetitive and a kinda creepy man
