Here from 2023 and 3 years of this champ I still can’t decide what my favorite runes or build is she is very versatile and rewards thoughtful play

Old Kayle was almost ranged too, her E made her ranged and in the late game, you had enough cool down to be ranged in almost all the encounters. So yeah, technically speaking, they never made Kayle ranged from a melee champion

Yes, but the majority of your damage wont come until either 16, or max stacks. So you will come into a teamfight that wasn't set up properly fairly underpowered until you stack. Most games don't reach the level 16 mark anyway. If they still did kassadin would be the uncontested king of late game carry, instead of a coinflip on a long game.
Possibly the most overloaded passive we've ever seen in League.

You have to land jax level sustained autos, with one ranged hit and no dashes until late. Most champs will outkite and outright obliterate kayle in the early, i can see her being vayne levels of carry late, but unless there is some searious release fuckery, the way she is set up, to snowball she would need a fuckload of a lead to get anywhere anytime soon.

I find this leveling passive idea very interesting and fun, but it's executed poorly imo. It's just like waiting for a lvl 16 ult on karthus, rather than something actual fun.

She's not going to be that weak early since the current kayle is quite reliant on taking like lethal tempo/hail of blades but after rework, not at all so you can get aerie + timewarp tonic and you'll have incredible early poke + sustain. You'd have to legit counterpick/camp for her to have a bad time in lane

I prefer the old armor too. But I think the white and cardinal purple is for evocate purity, good and power. And post lvl 11 she's awesome (despite the spandex but not so bad as lvl 1). And the 4, then 6 wings is a fantastic idea of visual !

They modernized Kayle's look and kit while still retaining the identity of the old Kayle which I think is important for older league players. Mad props!
