Nine years and 77,000 miles….. it’s been just as phenomenal as all the other Hondas we’ve owned. It’s really not as small as some people think….. roomy and reliable….ugly? Hey, it’s not a beautiful new Accord, but when it’s immaculately clean, that little red car really looks great! And, it’s my wife’s car, but I really enjoy zipping around in it!

I took away 3 lessons from the whole ordeal:

I got my Fit in 2008 standard transmission. I am the original owner. I drive it like a race car!!! It has 152K miles and I live in Minnesota. I will run it another 20 years or more and might be buried in it. Nothing breaks on this thing. My Brother and Sister keep whining about how I need to get a new care. Ridiculous!. I pay 350 dollars a year for insurance and my tabs are 50 bucks. It has a timing chain!!!!. I don't have to replace the belt. They stopped selling them in the US and Canada. I am bummed. I love this car.

My fav little car is our 2006 Pontiac Vibe. Awkward looking as all get out. But dirt cheap to maintain. Never had a failure other than the crappy Pontiac radio/cd player after 15 years. We love this little car. Super solid and all the parts are Toyota. 2022 and gets 29 around town and 33 doing 80+. Upgraded to Michelin Defender tires and full synthetic errrl. Love the handling.

If the noise bothers you, $75 in insulating material makes all the difference, if you want to do it yourself. Pop out the rear seat and side panels. Cover the floor and sides with Kilmat/Noico 80 mil sound mat ($70 for 36 sqft, enough to do my car). I went fancy for the floor and put in 1/2" marine closed cell foam, but the butyl sheets work fine and didn't need to get around to the headliner or front floor panels. There's little sound deadening in the rear and almost zero on the side panels and doors. Even your stereo will sound better... more bass.

    Luv. My. '08 Fit.
Supremely versatile interior, and you can fit a crazy amount inside if utilizing a reclined passenger seat (2 full sized dressers, 2 nightstands, and a bunch of odds and ends from IKEA). Engine and transmission are same as a Civic so it will last forever with proper maintenance.

Can confirm I had my Honda Fit 2008 till just recently. The only issues I really had was the driver side window power motor had to be replaced twice and the coil packs if you buy cheap they don't last long. Other than that it ran like a champ. I had 180,000 miles and made the switch to a 2023 Ford Ranger. Hopefully it lasts just as long. 16 years is a LONG time for a reliable vehicle. If you can find one with low mileage grab it!

Had the '07 same model, but base without radio, no power windows, no power locks, manual transmission. Bought it new and had that thing for years, ended up selling it. I didn't know what I had then, but oh well. I still can't believe manual transmission vehicles are pretty much a thing of the past! At this point I joke they're pretty much a secondary anti-theft device, but sadly true, lol!

Fits here costs a fortune, I was thinking about buying one (I like small cars) endup with a Toyota Etios which is significantly less expensive and almost as good, I will probably consider buy and used fit if I ever sold my Toyota, which is unlikely, it works great, I change oil every 6000-7000 km, all filters, tranny fluid every 30k km, I need to change coolant, 5 year old HOAT, didn't knew that the valve adjustment must be done with a hot engine, always learn from you, thank you
