  • This is one lens I wish I would have started out with. It's versatile. It's SO much better that the 18-55 lens. And it's a F/2.8 lens, which means it's good for low light situations and the bokeh isn't too bad. If you have any questions about this lens or if you have one, please leave a share your thoughts on it in the comments below!

    You took some great shots. That was on of my all-time favorite lenses. Wide open, it's magical. Stopped down, it's laser sharp. I think I spent something like $450 bucks on it back in maybe 2011 or so. I rarely took it off of my D80 and D7000. But alas, sometimes ya can't have anything. It was stolen from me in 2015 I believe. Out of my trunk. I'm using Z cameras now but I still have a D7200. I bought a Sigma 17-70 2.8 - f4. It just doesn't have the same pop. The coolest thing about the lens, is you get results, that no other camera can defeat. Even with your D90. Enjoy it man.

      Thanks! Yeah, I was really surprised at how the images really 'popped' on my D90. You're definitely right on that part for this lens. Thanks!

    I use this lens on my D300. There is much better nowadays but it can do the job. I even used it for wedding, the only downside is at indoor wide open. But if you stop it in something like F/4, the lens is sharp. It can get the job done but there are some times I would like to have something like Sigma 17-35mm or Sigma 17-70mm

      Thanks for sharing! I was amazed at how good this lens performed. You're correct about it at F/4 as well.

    I'm tempted to test a used lens to use with my Canon RP, but I'm afraid that the APS lens on this Full Frame camera will lose a lot of photo quality.

      if 99% of your images are on social media, it'd be extremely hard to tell "what image quality" was lost.

    Why in the heck are you shooting cars in portrait mode?

    • @BoostLeekdMedia
      @BoostLeekdMedia  Před 2 měsíci

      It's the current trend for car show images on social media because of the way phones are. I also did not understand it at all at first but people tend to like the "portrait' mode of their cars instead of the landscape. I still MUCH prefer landscape for car photos.

      @@BoostLeekdMedia yes I agree it is a strange trend. I also prefer landscape.

    Do you think this lens will be fast enough for sports indoors. Like basketball?

    • @BoostLeekdMedia
      @BoostLeekdMedia  Před 5 měsíci

      I would say yes. The camera body is actually one that determines autofocus speed. The lens will do the best it can to grab focus.

      I would. It's a great overall lens that very versatile. Just make sure it will autofocus with your Canon. I'm not familiar with Canon cameras.
