As someone who is always… y’know… ridin’ dirty... cruise control would go a long way toward reducing my anxiety levels on certain trips. I’m gunna try it on my 2015 Tacoma. Thanks for the rad video! 😛
Amazing how quick and simple it is for this install. You’re so good at explaining and showing the details. Babies! Yay! So cute and itty biddie. My favorite has racing stripes!
Great video. Beware on standard transmissions there is an additional step….install Cruise Control Clutch Switch, that way if the clutch is depressed to shift gears, the cruise control will deactivate. Possible idea for and part 2 video? Nice work.
2011 Tacoma 4x4 Regular Cab with Tow Package. I just did this last week! Mine was NOT prewired. But it was pretty easy to run two additional wires from the ECU the Cruise switch. Works great - one of the best upgrades I've done.
@@niccapitan9574 yes, search for rostra cruise install instructions. I’ve been doing some research on my 2013 base auto. 2.7. If you have a manual transmission you will need to add a clutch switch. My 2013 auto wasn’t prewired, so I have to run a wire from 8 pin connector pin 1 (behind steering harness, bottom) to ECU 22 pin 14. And a ground from 8 pin connector (pin 2) to good ground. Also, these vary based on model. V6 connects to different areas. Many are the same, but some do vary, so research is key. Good luck !
I love how base model Toyota’s are still wired for all the features they’re missing. I installed a bunch of SR5 features on my old pickup like a tachometer, radio, a/c with not much difficulty

OMG!!! That little chick is so adorable! Gotta pass this info on to my oldest brother. He's got a standard (extended cab/king cab I believe) 06' Tacoma. Not sure if he has cruise control and I'm pushing him to do more for himself as far as vehicles go. Thank you for the always great & entertaining info. I think I speak for all of your subscribers by saying that we appreciate you and all of your hard work! Take care & keep being you!

I purchased the OEM harness for the tailgate, and run the wiring myself with some assistance from CZcams videos. Also purchased the lights kit and cabin switch with assistance from some smart people on Tacoma World. As you said, Toyota saves money using similar harnesses on most models. This also gives the dealership opportunities to make more money on upgrades! Great video. Keep up the good work.

Very helpful!! Thanks for the tip, and that's awesome! Yes I found some parts on Amazon but didn't feel like linking 😬 I probably should but I'm always weary of fakes 😨
When Nixon lowered the national speed limit to 55 mph I added cruise control to my 1974 Dodge Sportsman van using a factory kit which included a replacement turn signal lever, a vacuum device and cables to tap into the speedometer cable, link to the throttle, and add a second switch at the brake.
