  • I don’t know why Triacs are mysterious for many people. But don’t worry, I am here to clear up many ambiguities about this lovely component. I will answer these questions in this video.
What is best method to control triac using microcontroller?
Can I touch TAB of triac?
    Are triacs dangerous?
What is precautions about working with triacs?
    Do triacs switch DC?
    Why triacs can’t switch DC?
Are anode pins of triacs different?
Which part number should I use for a light bulb?
What happen if somebody change phase and neutral places?
Here in this video you will get answer of these questions

To turn on/off an AC appliance (like a light bulb), of course it's much simpler to just use a *relay* which can switch both AC and DC loads.
The only real purpose of introducing a triac to a system is to clip the AC waveform and provide throttling which is a super useful function. That could have been made clear at the beginning of the video.

any idea or workaround about this issue ?

Hook and ohm meter / diode checker between anodes.
With the gate floating, the triac shouldn't fire.
      Trigger the triac
It should have about one silicon diode's worth of drop when triggered.
Depending on the triac and the meter, there may not be enough current to keep the triac triggered so connecting and disconnecting the gate may make it conduct and stop conducting.
The main thing you are checking is that the triac isn't shorted and that its gate leg does something.
The most common failure in a triac is they go shorted.
The 2nd most failure is they blow open.

You can likely find a "light dimmer" circuit on line.
The basic idea is to trigger the triac on only after some time has passed since the AC voltage went through zero. The old type of dimmers simply used a resistor and capacitor to make a delayed voltage and a diac to trip the triac when the voltage hits some value.

Touch the Triac when the circuit is live?
    Crazy to touch Mains Voltage?
7:45 OK, you only have 120V AC and 170V peak. In Europe these are 240V AC and 340V peak.
That bites you hard in the fingers!
This can lead to cardiac arrhythmias or death.
If you're lucky and just fall off a chair or ladder and break your bones.
If things go badly, you can no longer pull your hand back and can't cut off the power.
In Europe, the rule is to set it up safely, then take your fingers away and switch it on.
Don't touch it never while it's hot !
Never or you'll regret it or it is to late !
