I’m really surprised how smooth that launched. A lot of the AWD Hondas I’ve seen are a lot more violent off the line. It seems like it’ll be very consistent once you get it shaken down some more. Hopefully we see you do a Drag Week with that thing!
I don’t think they are applying crazy power off the launch. It also seems like he is rolling the throttle so it’s not crazy violent. I’m sure we will see some more aggressive launches once they get it completely dialed in. All imho of coarse
@@Stikz40 it does seem like they are taking it a little easy on the launch. But smooth is fast. Most of all it’s consistent. Once dialed in a bit more, I’m betting this would be a consistent 8.5 car. Sure it could go faster, but an 8.5 4cyl with AC and mostly a full interior is quite impressive! I think a full trim streetable car would be more fun than an all out drag car.

You need to shim the viscus mounts between the chassis to get a straighter shaft line. That input angle is causing the mounts to flex and put torque on the viscus assembly. Also might need a billet viscus anyway.

Why do they need a viscous in the driveshaft? I don't understand the setup...why can't it be a solid DS? DSMs have the center diff in the trans. EVOs the center diff is in the tcase...

It’s pretty much a dampener for the rear diff as the diff has literally come from a Honda that makes 100hp hahaha
Both evos and dsms have been putting viscous couplers in recently trying to figure out how Hondas keep launching so smooth
