  • Our host Lewis checks in this week from the Home of the Blues, Memphis, Tennessee! We’re recording this week’s episode in the parking lot of Sun Studios. Sun Studios has produced some legendary, great music. Countless hits. Midterm elections were this week and all the news coverage of it has been people standing in line. Even though people are standing in line to vote, our host reminds you that you need to give people a reason to vote! One political party comes up with solutions they can’t explain. The other political party wants to keep their good ideas a secret. It’s important to vote. It matters. Lewis is sick of people saying that George Carlin didn’t vote. How do you know that to be true? He could just be saying that because he’s George and he is a comedian! But then again, voting probably did genuinely bother him a lot. Lewis had an extra day to spend some time in Memphis. If he’s being honest, he ordered enough BBQ to feed a family of six. Also, if you’re ever in Memphis, you need to visit the civil rights museum. It will be one of the most extraordinary experiences you can ever have. It’s crazy that they don’t want to teach about civil rights history in school. Kids need to learn about this.
    Our host's next stops in his tour are in Ohio and South Carolina. As always, our host reminds us that we take care of each other. It’s the most important thing we can do for one another.
    This week’s live rants were filmed at Austin City Limits at the Moody Theater in Austin, Texas and the Majestic Theater in Dallas, Texas.

    Love you, Lew. 😃❤️😘I'm still planning on sending in my rant. It's a real rant, but I'm trying my best to make it funny. It's my biggest hope, especially these days, cuz , there's nothing left to be hopeful for, is to make you laugh 😂 to show my gratitude for the years you have saved me with the laughs you've given.

      Why does CZcams censor complaints about the increase in offensive ads?
      But the BS propaganda fake ads are even more disgusting.
      Censorship can't be for profit. NO SALE here.
      Just harassment ads and lousy blackmail.

    Yesterday I couldn’t believe how crazy the news reporters were. I hate TV on Election Day. Between the political commercials and crazy result coverage I was done. I voted went home and watched anything else but the results. Just plain done. Thank God it’s over. Thank you Lewis was looking forward to your rant all day.

    If I were going to choose someone to emulate to decide whether or not to vote, it wouldn’t be George Carlin no matter how much I might like him. I would choose the wonderful John Lewis.

    Hey Lewis!! Thank you about talking about The Civil Rights National Museum, about the crappy injustices we as humans treated slaves and people of color. When I went to early vote in Millington,TN I noticed that one of the amendments that we could vote for was to YES abolish slavery. Really in 2022?? Thanks for your voice of humanity.

    Hi Lewis, I'd recommend reading the Economics of Slavery in the Antebellum South by Alfred H. Conrad and John R. Myer 1958. The Phd. Thesis by a brilliant economist and econometrician. He was the head of the Economics Department at CCNY when I was there back in 1967. Sincerely, Frank Brown.

    • @Caperhere
      @Caperhere Před rokem +1

      Lots of corporate price gouging going on. However “ Economic studies show” is not a source. And does that 54% apply to a city, county, state, the country, or all of the countries who are facing inflation with price gouging attached?
      I am not defending corporations. A business model with all of the rights of an individual and none of the responsibilities just should not be legal.
      Keeping in mind corporations have steadily gained enough power in the US to control government decision and policy making, you’d think people might want to vote against the party which has been bought by corporate America.
      The British Medical Journal had a very good, well sourced article on who is funding the government bodies who are making health decisions we all are affected by.
      The WHO wants, they claim, to cut down on medical misinformation. They want only government regulators to be able to post information on social media posts. That sounds sensible, until you realize large portions of their budgets are funded by the industry they are supposed to regulate. The FDA budget is 65% funded by industry. In Canada, 55%. In Australia, 96%. In Europe, 89%. In the UK, 86%. In Japan, 85%. Also, 9 out of 10 of past commissioners between 2006 and 2019 went on to secure roles linked with Pharmaceutical companies.
      Source, BMJ- from FDA to MHRA: are drug regulators for hire?
      I copied the BMJ info from dr john campbill, on this platform.

    At this rate, with how things are going, we might as well elect Leatherface for President. At least A) all he does is squeal which is easier to understand than the verbal diarrhea we hear from congress on a regular basis, and B) there’s no problem that can’t be fixed with a good old fashioned chainsaw. Best of all, at least we have a President who will scare the shit out of both Russia & the North Koreans.

    Mlk had no interest in playing the role of civil rights activist. That's a myth. He was dragged kicking and screaming if you want to know the truth. And that is actually the truth. Not an " opinion"

    • @ThePMcDonald
      @ThePMcDonald Před rokem

      That actually doesn't matter, because MLK became a martyr and will ALWAYS be the epitome of the civil rights movement ... whether he wanted to "play the role" or not, HE GAVE HIS LIFE for His Dream, which is more than can be said for ALL of the fascist, racist COWARDS of the QAnon movement, the GOP, the right wing and every Trump supporter ...
      I dedicated twenty years to defending the US Constitution against ALL enemies, foreign AND DOMESTIC, and since Trump descended on that fkin escalator in 2015, I realized that those twenty years WERE WASTED because the COWARDS mentioned above DO NOT CARE about the Constitution and what it ACTUALLY means ...
      Either way, THANK GOD for Lewis and Vic DiBitetto, for giving me a VOICE while the intellectual vacuum of the COWARDS mentioned above DESTROY the American Experiment ...
