Talking Gyspum and Opening Up A Silo

The video started out with Willie and Arlin opening up a silo. It was filled in the fall and they put plastic to cover the top pf the silage. They went up and put the unloader down and took off the plastic and then ran a couple ton out till they got to the good stuff. Arlin ended the video talking about the use of gyspum after we had a few comments about whether it is good to use or not.

Gypsum is lime based, so you get some sanitizing in the mix with the sawdust. Changes the Ph , and makes it less hospitable to bacteria.

Thanks for the silo tour and the update on the Gyspum. Does it cost more to have it added or cheaper as the mill is trying to get rid of it ?
