Finishing Thumb Bucket & Building the Banana Cannon!
VloĆŸit
- Äas pĆidĂĄn 1. 03. 2022
- Thumb Bucket Trail is now complete! All the sections are linked together, which means we have one monster route from the top of the mountain. At the end of this new section, we built the "Banana Cannon" to launch you over the Berm and on to the main line. All materials were sourced from Berm Peak. Today we'll do some machine trail building, finish work with hand tools, building with wood, and a whole lot of figuring out.

I have no interest in bikes, or building trails, I don't own a bike and I don't think I could jump one. But here I am, 3 years into your channel watching every upload because I like the way you edit and film your videos, They're entertaining and like mental chewing gum to watch (easy to chew) I always look forward to your content and I'll be here for a long time. Keep up the great work my guy! Safe riding.
Sounds like it's time to buy a bike! You can do it!
Exactly the same! I donât particularly like riding MTB. Donât like it at all in fact, my dad loves it. Iâm more into racing gokarts đ but the mechanical part of his videos is perfect and this type of videos is so well made and entertaining!!! Keep it up Seth
@@benholmquist1148 fr man this calls for a bike. OP might still have 0% interest in bikes, but they could really use a bike for uhh, reasons.
So I'm not alone. Only reasons I'm not into MTB is that there are few decent trail systems near me, work gives me little time, and paintball can be expensive
@@LucaTgaard I used to race! And mountain biking was a key fitness element for me. It really builds your core muscles and your shoulders too! Just what you need for long stints in a kart or car race!
Damn Seth! Looks incredible.
You post, and Seth posts! This is so sick!
I sub to you but I forgot what your content it
Ayo
Yesss
YOOO! What you guys up to lately!?!?!
That feeling when opening CZcams and finding a Berm Peak post is just cool
i feel that same way
Itâs incredible seeing how much Sethâs trail building skills have progressed from his first video to now
He has to be thinking of starting a trail building company. All the money invested into equipment, you have to keep it making money for you.
@@Chris-pw7ov he makes more money of making money building trails then building trails
@@jbt115 just seems like he's pivoting right now. CZcams creator has a shelf life.
@@Chris-pw7ov Content is different because the weather is bad. This channel will peak way higher than where it is now. The man is set for life if he plays his cards right.
@@sm-qw9mj Doesn't strike me as the kind of guy who keeps doing the same thing, just because. He's got a kid, is fiancially set up well, and doesn't seem to like the headaches of the "fame". I would not be shocked if this trail system was a trial run for the beginning of something else.
I'd never leave my house if I had a trail system like that in my backyard. Great job Seth and all involved.
All of this trail work is truly impressive especially when you see the "over head graphic" of all that you guys have accomplished in such a short time. Oh yeah, and if I had a dollar for every time I've roamed my house and workshop saying "Hey Seri", I'd have quite a large chunk of change!!
Love ur channel u did inspire me to ride bud, im 46 and been riding 3 years, i road the trek Stache for 2 years, and loved it so much i bought the full Stache, thank u for all the videos
the full stache is a monster truck ! Love to see people riding it
So far i love it, i ride in Chattanooga Tenn, so i took it to Raccoon the other day
Next time use a pulley or snatch block wrapped around another tree so you can pull on the dead tree without it falling in the same direction the machine you are pulling it with. Also, Seths operator skills have quickly grown! Impressive!
Was just about to write the same thing
Seth has created the most genuine reality show in all history of reality shows. Seth might be the GOAT of CZcamsrs.
Now Iâm replying to myself. But seriously think about it. They way heâs taken the original Sethâs Bike Hacks during his Florida days to now. Heâs brilliantly diversified his revenue streams with multiple channels, content, and real estate investment. I did some back of the napkin calculations on his Ranger Station property based on a snapshot of reservations and needless to say itâs paying back dividends. I could go on and on but Seth, youâre one smart SOB.
@@rolandovera5935 Heâs great, but half of his videos Im not interested in. I know that the injury has been tough on him, but I loved the older content of rating bike parks, exploring new places ect. I love the backyard part just as much, and it finally feels like heâs getting back to it after a couple of months without this sought of content.
@@sethgardner8209 weather makes what you wanna see really hard. Where he lives is usually cold and snowy, but it's been dry for a few weeks so now he can do stuff outside. During the winter he has to get creativeđ
He truly is a big inspiration. Such a cool and genuine guy.
Other CZcamsrs would have called this video "I almost buried my phone alive!".
I'm glad you're sticking to being informative rather than click airing viewers.
It's incredible that we're basically watching a bike park get built in real time, and the money from watching just furthers it more .. it's the mtb circle of life.
Might be a good idea to wear Hi-vis vest while working around the machine. It's also always a smart move to make eye contact with an operator when around a working machine. Eye contact secures you see them and they see you. Love the content.
Anyone who has never carved and built a trail may not realize just how difficult it can be and these guys are going by the book drainage tamping and preserving as much foliage as possible great job!
iâm surprised he doesnât mention it more but these rhododendrons are invasive plants from nepal and northern china. the climate is actually very similar too
Thanks you
So sick brother! My son and I watch youâre channels like a series on Netflix. Everyday I come Home from work and heâs already got CZcams pulled up ready to go. He was so excited for today to tee this video! Outstanding work. We were also browsing the ranger station on Airbnb for a sick weekend trip but as expected that place is booked up solid! Canât wait for the snow to melt over here in New York so we can get back on two wheels, these videos get us amped up!
Thanks Seth to getting me into mountain bike again! Since September last year I've finally got my fully and now that the weather is getting better again I cannot wait to ride again!
When you and Kevin are working together a couple of radios are a big safety booster. They save your voice too, not having to yell over the machine.
Does anybody else watch videos like this and get an overwhelming urge to drop everything and build incredible MTB trails the rest of your life? This is so interesting and compelling to me. I've designed and built minor trails and jumps - it is a fun discipline and requires such creativity! Walking and surveying the land beforehand, selecting natural features to emphasize, using your surroundings to make fun and unique MTB jumps/drops/skinnies/etc. Thank you, Seth, for the inspirational and entertaining content. It sure helps to keep the MTB excitement up over the winter for this Virginia native.
Great work!
Love the ânana cannon.
Youâre wise to let the trail sit and harden off.
I also like how every trail speaks of itâs surroundings and soil type. My local trail has clay base with loose rock. As the clay weathers, the rocks become more apparent, so choosing your line becomes challenging. Thatâs the fun of visiting other trails and the joy of hard earned local knowledge.
Enjoy!
I haven't had the time to watch any progress with Berm peak for a year so coming back in and watching from 'episode 1' onwards I'm amazed at how much progress has been made. Not just with the trails themselves but also the skills both Seth and Kevin have developed as trailbuilders.
Seeing you come from Florida to now is such an epic journey and it's incredible to see how selfless and thoughtful you are still.
Don't ever change, thanks for making us all want to ride every day đ€đ»
Seth in a world with so much fear and uncertainty, your videos provide 10 minutes of escape and excitement. Truly appreciated.
Having worked in both land grading construction and as a high end carpenter, it's been amazing to watch you build your arsenal of tools and equipment into one that even I'm jealous of, and see you learn new techniques. The time lapse of that cannon jump construction really shows it: correct plan and execution, and you have all of the right tools for the job. Props.
Great work, Seth. A great reminder of the incredible potential of your property, and the dedication to your craft.
A few years ago I subscribed and signed up for some biking tips. Today, I get to sit and enjoy, child proofing a home, R/C car shenanigans and bike trail construction whilst avoiding getting flattened by dead trees......god I love your channel!
Yay a build video! I had a bit of a rough day yesterday and this cheered me up! Thanks Seth
Thank god for this video, school is so boring.
I've been really enjoying watching other CZcamsrs with their backyard builds and it's obvious you're an inspiration. Once again you're showing why you're still the king of backyard builds.
Sweet looking trail build! I can't wait to see the test ride. Great work!
I love that you threw in the music track at 9mins, that you always used to use when building stuff. You'll hit 2.5m soon and you deserve every one of us. Just positive vibes.
I remember when I first discovered this channel, it was what sparked my interest in mountain biking. That was about 3-4 years ago I want to say. Though I still haven't gone on a proper mountain bike trail, I still learned a lot about bikes and love to ride them around my small town to this day. (Going to go mountain biking this summer with a few buddies of mine, and am super stoked about it). I love this channel for the bikes, but also because I love to see Seth doing what he loves for a living, which is a huge inspiration to me to do the same.
Berm peak looks sick! So satisfying seeing berm peak grow and improve. Iâm a trail builder from New Zealand and I figured Iâd be that guy. For pulling that tree down the ideal solution is to use a pulley block attached to a nearby tree so the you can pull from the opposite direction the tree will fall. Iâm frothing seeing these videos help the audience gain knowledge and learn what goes into making a trail. Cheers!
Hey Seth! You should have a line that has jumps the size of A-Line. It would be fun to see be built and awesome to see you ride
I second this!
Guys I don't think he has the space for thatđhe'd only be able to put like 3-4 jumps in haha
This has been a journey well worth taking. It has been great to watch along as you get the various trails sorted in your yard. Can't wait to see how the Thumb Bucket rides.
These trail building videos are like therapy. Quality quality quality!
Love the map at the end with stars for features. I found myself checking off videos in my head of when each was made. : )
Every time I watch a video of yours it's just makes me want to get back into MTB riding more! Trails are looking rad!
I love your work Seth, keep it up!
Been watching the whole thumb bucket series avidly and what a good way to finish it off. Great work Sethđ
This channel is literally the best glad trail vids are coming back
Love to see weâre getting back into some more bike based vids â€ïž
Golden as always! Can't wait to see this trail ridden in all of its glory.
Ahh finally another feature on berm peak I missed this videos thank you Seth much love from Philippinesđ”đâ€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïž
Been riding for two years now thanks to Seth! Developed new confidence and fitness and I love it
Havenât even finished watching this but I know itâs gonna be a banger!!
dude i love you channel you are the one who got me into mountain biking it is the best thing ive done in my life
Looking good, can't wait to see a full run
Your work is an inspiration! Thanks Seth!
I think my favorite part of every video is the staring at it. I do it every time I build something lol, love it man keep it coming please.
its so cool to look at the trail map and remember all your previouse builds and where they are on the map.
Iâve been waiting weeks for this kind of video, theyâre the ones that inspired me to make my own trails in my backyard. Believe it or not, almost every feature you built, I built.
Classic Seth's Bike Hacks upload right here. Love it.
This channel is an amazing gem (much love from Wales)
Sick video dude as always! Loved the thumb bucket videos and am looking forward to seeing it be ridden! đ„đ„đ„
It's always satisfying watching your contents zer!
That looks amazing. You skill as a trail builder has come so far. Way to go! Itâs cool to see.
Perfect progress GREAT JOB!
The video he described at the end is exactly what Iâve been waiting for. Canât wait
Smiling during this whole video. Been here for awhile now and this series gets better and better.
Watching the creation of Berm Peak is like watching a show on HGTV and I love it
Incredible work seth
This is amazing, i cant wait to see you guys ride this!
I love slopestyle and dirtjumping and berm peak is the perfect channel for that. I love mountain biking, so does Seth and Kevin, so that makes this channel awesome.
Entirely thanks to you, I rid my first mountain bike trail last week and it was thrilling, so thank you for getting me back on 2 wheels
I could watch these trail building videos all day. Flip bike is fine as filler, but videos like these are why iâm a subscriber
Another great and inspiring vid. Years ago, it was this channell and your enthusiasm that kicked me up the butt to do similar work on my own local hills. Keep it coming my bros!
Really miss the build videos! CanÂŽt wait for more!
i havenât ridden in a few months but i still love your videos, thanks so much for uploading
This is the content I've been waiting for!
Another awesome video! Nice job Seth
That looks pretty badass.
Another really good video
its good to wake up with a new trail build thx seth!!!!
Absolutely Incredible! You have more than earned your space in The MTB World. You work your A## off. Keep up the good work and looking forward to your next episode.đđ€đ€
man as a heavy equipment operator/mechanic I love seeing your experience in learning about equipment! Don't worry we all learn like this and you will never forget how to fix these problems! keep pushing on and don't feel like you're an oddball like I said we all went through this at one point. Thankfully no one was hurt and remember that experience because you will be put in a similar if not the same scenario again sooner than you would like! đ
What a transformation, man. Can't wait to see it in action.
Congrats on trending man, love the trails!
Looking great Seth.
Switched from mtb to dirt bikes a couple years ago and have always continued to watch and enjoy your videos. Keep it up Seth!
awesome!!! cant wait for a full run from the top!
Havenât even watched it yet, but already dropped a like. My favorite creator working on my favorite series

you guys got so much better at buiilding trails. i can see the progress it is looking really good!
Dang Seth! You're getting good with that machine! Awesome work on the trails, guys. Gonna be good!
So excited everytime you upload a new video.
I had a Motorola flip phone (yep, this was a while ago) that I lost while shoveling snow. Three months later and, with spring, came warm temps and the inevitable thaw. My neighbour came over one day, with a familiar looking object in his hands! I laughed, I mean, what were the chances that I would ever see my phone again? For shits and giggles, I plugged it in and came back several hours later. The phone powered up and operated like the day I lost it - incredible!
Super pumped for spring now!!
Awesome video once again
I have a lot of respect for Seth because heâs the reason I started mtb
Always a great day when Seth uploads, heâs the one who inspired me to make my own biking and trial building yt channel. Iâm so glad heâs here and donât wanna see him stop what he does best.
That banana cannon line looks so awesome, Good Job đ€.
Your content gets better and better each day
