Greetings from Siberia, Novosibirsk 👋
Drive a few more days and you will be in our region :)
We are going to the Black Sea, to the south of Russia, only by train, and it lasts 3 days, an unforgettable trip, by plane is not interesting.. On the train, my son meets other children and they play all the way, and then they part with tears.. 😊
And I love to look out the window when the train is traveling and enjoy the nature and vastness of my country, and I am always amazed at how huge it is.
I agree!

People like Joseph, whose height is over 6.4 feet, will mostly disagree)) And they can be understood, because sleeping for several nights with your legs outstretched or curled up is not the most comfortable thing to do while traveling! :))
@@mtm_777 It doesn't have to be that way. I can stretch my legs on an American Sleeping Car. The issue is the older European style sleeper design is older and was designed when Europeans were shorter.

This video got me chills. My father brought me into train adventure when I was about 13. We started in Moscow and went all the way down to Tashkent then by ferry to Baku over Caspian Sea and then all the way up to Baltic Sea. 2 week in trains. That was something.

In 2004, I went to my aunt from Moscow to Chita on a regular train that went there for 4.5 days. There were two conductors in the carriage: a man and a woman. The man was on duty at night, the woman during the day. For three days we drank with a male guide until I decided that was enough. I lay like a tree for another day and died. My uncle met me in Chita, took me home, had a hangover with vodka and I climbed into the bathroom. I was young then and I came to life pretty quickly.
Wow! Thanks for an exciting story.

The longest Train journey I've done was from Cape Town, South Africa to Harare, Zimbabwe. I've actually done it twice, there and back. But this was many years ago before the days of Zimbabwe, when it was still called Rhodesia. I lived there for about 35 years up to 1999. Anyway, the journey is just over 2500kms and took back then, it was still Steam Locomotives 3 nights and 2 days. +/- 60 hours give or take.
You can't take the Train anymore, a bit like a lot of things now in Southern Africa.......
Of course the train journey was only a small part of the total trip - had to take a Ship from Southampton, England to get to Cape Town, that was 13 days! Or approximatately 312 hours!....lol. But I loved it - all of it!
You've lived a marvelous life
Such a great adventure.
@@AndreiBerezin Most certainly, very blessed and fortunate. And I'd do it all again, along with my beautiful wife of 43 years...
@expatamerican3234 Absolutely! There were hardships as you can well imagine, living with petrol rationing was very inconvenient as was living without a lot of things due to that favourite weapon of the West referred to as "Sanctions", but it was all worth it living in a beautiful country.

A wonderful journey! I love trains. When you surrender to the power of the Road. And you don't belong to yourself to some extent. You watch landscapes rushing past you, constantly changing. Many of its warriors were workers who built the very tanks they drove into battle. So the monument depicts an old worker sending off a young soldier. Because of the worker having a working glove on his outstretched arm, this monument is often informally referred as "The Mitten", like in "when you get to the railway station, let's meet under the mitten".
