    A few years ago my daughter took me to Ireland from which came my grandparents. We discovered fish chowder and ate it with soda bread across Ireland and loved it. I long to return. Everywhere we went felt like home in my soul. My husband and I have renovated much of our house and experienced many of the same frustration as you. Thank you for allowing us to live vicariously. ❤

    Thank you so much for the shoutout guys, Noel really enjoyed his visit and I’m gutted I couldn’t be there. We’ll make up for it in future. You were an inspiration and a Godsend at just the right time. Noel is back in UK briefly to get the car MOT’d and then heading back out early next week. We’re a bit behind on uploading due to sporadic footage but the next one will feature you with much gratitude. You work so hard and are doing a great job. Keep it up and look after yourselves at the same time… almost there with the grant, you must feel relieved. Sending love and hugs ❤😊🙌

      Yes we will have to investigate all options 🙂

  • @thegirlwithbrighteyes2453

    With that wardrobe...it's not super narrow but it's probably too narrow to properly lean into every time you want something so I would probably do something you can pull out, a bit like you'd do in a kitchen, with a pole you can hang clothes from and somewhere to put folded clothes, like splitting the pull-out-thingie into a shelf part and a pole part, if that makes sense? That way you'd maximize the space.

    The hard work you’ve put into your new home is really paying off and once completed will look amazing! Burn out is quite normal….and then you’ll push past it. Once you get your grant money you can take it a bit slower and easier. Once you get a bunch of us followers you should spoil yourselves and invest in a good massage chair. My husband loves a massage so instead of paying a human $150 per 90 minute session I spent a few thousand and bought a fancy massage chair. We’ve used it so much that that chair has paid for itself many times over. You both deserve some relaxation.

    As far as the wardrobe, my suggestion would take a bit more framing. Close the opening into the bedroom. Open the wall (as much as possible) in the bathroom and make it a full length, "walk in" closet. Above the toilet itself build a small cupboard for towels and personal items. Then the rest could be closet.

    • @WestCorkWander

    Re Ciara's wardrobe - definitely pull out drawers or racks as it's quite a deep space. Not sure where you should put a hanging rail though 🤔. You deserved the break from work, it's impossible to keep going at the pace you've set w'out burn-out setting in. Don't envy Claire the task of plastering upstairs with all of those awkward angles & off-cuts....

    Hi Guys, love your attitude to all of this malake, can you ease my worries and tell me why Claire is grinding the floors dry, surely water (or Guiness)would help dampen the dust and extend the grinding disk life? Get it would be a wet mess but a dehumidifier would sort that very quickly.

    • @WestCorkWander
      @WestCorkWander  Před 17 dny +1

      I did try it wet, but it's very messy and when working with it dry, which I had never planned to do, the dust moves away more easily so that you can see what you are doing. Nothing nice about it, but thankfully I am complete now💪

Can’t seem to get going with the motivation or enthusiasm. I think in the beginning you run on adrenalin and excitement so you just keep pushing through but once your body and mind are just exhausted…it would be normal to take a step back and stop but you two can’t (grant) so it weighs so heavy on your minds causing more stress and exhaustion. It’s a viscous cycle really isn’t it? Fingers crossed once the paperwork is sent off it will take that weight off your mind ❤️ Aww yes Rooney looked over the moon to have a friend, it’s very heart warming when animals like each other isn’t it?

    • @WestCorkWander
      @WestCorkWander  Před 17 dny +1

      The more confined spaces were worst, but thankfully the kitchen area with the space and doors open made it much easier. I found the mask amazing, no dust particles at all. I did have to change masks half way through though as it did get clogged. And actually as it goes the dry grinding meant I could see what I was doing more clearly. Thankfully all done now, just a year of dust to hoover 🙄
