    Another fun trick:
    In the gear menu in the upper right of Quick Sampler, you can choose to take a sliced instrument and convert it into a Drum Machine Designer track. This will create a Quick Sampler per slice, and organize it into a Pad based drum machine style layout. This will also automatically generate a MIDI file from the slices. :)
    You’ll get a channel strip per slice! :)

    I want to be able to play the sample so that I can push the key or pad and not have to hold the key down for the whole thing to play. Also want to have it so that when I push one key and then then another, the first one stops as soon as I hit second key.

  • @hersheybell8444
    @hersheybell8444 Před 3 lety

    Excellent as always Josh. One question (I feel like a moron for asking) but (for example) in the bass line - you said it chose C3 and if you play that it plays the sample. How do you get all the notes - do you just play the notes on a midi player as you would any VST?

    • @MusicTechHelpGuy
      @MusicTechHelpGuy  Před 3 lety +3

      If you use any of the modes other than Slicing, the default pitch of the sample will be set to C3. So that means that no transposing is happening on C3. If you play on any MIDI controller, or with the Command K, keyboard, when you play higher than C3, the sample is pitched up, and lower than C3 the sample is pitched down. The tricky thing is that C3 may not be the actual pitch you're hearing. If you drag in a sample that has a root note of A4 for example, now when you press C3, you're actually hearing A4.

For example if I want to chop a short C note of a bass guitar from a sample thats 1/16 note however when I press a key it will last 20 seconds long like it's from a Plugin preset?

  • @TheTriTonez

    Hey bud...I have a question that I just cant seem to get an answer to. I want to mix a live show. So it has separate stems (for each vocal and instrument), but its this whole show. Each song is in different time signatures. But I want to lock the whole show to the grid to make quantizing and other things possible. Can and How do I change the tempo at 05:57 for example to accommodate the time signature of the next song? I use the tempo track up top, but I just cant seem to get it smack on the first downbeat of the next song. When I try to move it onto the first downbeat, most of the time it either jumps like a millisecond before or after the first downbeat...which does not help. Any advice?
    You would be saving a life here! LOL!
