- On January 2, 2016, The Massachusetts Bay Railroad Enthusiasts returned to New Hampshire’s White Mountains for their 9th annual winter charter at the Conway Scenic Railroad. The star of this year’s show was Boston and Maine 4266, an EMD F7A “covered wagon” built in 1950. This locomotive is believed to have been the last “F unit” to operate on the Boston and Maine Railroad in 1976, and is the only former Boston and Maine F7A currently in service. She has one 16 Cylinder 1,500 horse power model 567 BC diesel engine, and weighs 117 tons in working order. She is now owned by the 470 Railroad Club of Portland Maine, and is on lease to Conway Scenic.
The four-car train traveled along the former Mountain Division of the Maine Central Railroad from the Notchland Inn in Crawford Notch to the railroad’s terminal in North Conway, located at the end of the Boston and Maine Railroad’s former Conway Branch.
Don't forget to comment, like, share, and subscribe for plenty of great railroading action from all over the eastern USA!

Great coverage of a neat operation! Very good editing job. But what a horrible combination of horns, they need to ditch that K5LA.
+Central Penn Rail Productions Thanks, glad you're enjoying our work!
Late reply but, I actually really like it. I've heard it's so loud it shakes the ground!
Excellent work! It looked like it was a good chase! I rode the train
+TheViRoCo Thank you!
hate that single note horn, that the gg1's uded to use but i love the sound of that bell anx the beautiful sounding K5LA above the engineer. wish he would chose what horn to blow
I'm pretty sure that the K5LA is for safety (it is louder), and the single note horn (Leslie A-200) was what came with it and many people prefer it.
Don’t hate me, but I much prefer the Nathan K5LA over the Leslie A200.
THE TIME IS MEOW! This a200 isn't in good shape, but there are WAY better a200's out there.
Nice!
Glad you enjoyed
What type of horn is the horn in the beginning?
+JacksonAndLansing Railroad I think it has a Leslie A-200. B&M 4266 has two Horns.
1st Horn: Nathan K5LA
2nd Horn: Leslie A-200
MrSonicthehedgehog31 Thanks.
+JacksonAndLansing Railroad K5la which is fouled than a a200
@@MrSonicthehedgehog31 The A200 is no “winter horn”, the A200 is for heritage and the K5 is for safety (say if someone was crossing the tracks in front of them)
Sounds like this engine has 2 different types of horns.
