Facts and that is sad. He was really never that good. None of the guys he beat in the UFC prior to Formiga had success. They were all cut shortly after fighting him or took straight Ls.
@@denisenoles3159 Granted you can’t necessarily blame Perez for that. The flyweight division was a ghost town that got spat on by the bipolar UFC fanbase daily. Now it actually has a flourishing scene of mostly decent to great talent, so of course Alex is gonna fall behind now that he has actual warrior gunning for him.
@zombieeightpack1381 I understand where you are coming from but others in the division were able to succeed despite the ghost town you mentioned. He wasn't able to beat Pantoja, Figgy or Benavidez. Maybe if he at least beat one of them, I would think differently.

Why wouldn't you put the other leg forward?
Many strikers don't train in southpaw (enough) to get proficient at it. Most fighters are right handed and fighting southpaw makes you significantly less effective when your right power arm is forward. Go try to kick a soccer ball with your non-dominant foot. It will feel incredibly awkward. Same concept.

I hate when refs step between fighters to let the grounded opponent stand unmolested. If a fighter decides to trick his opponent by pretending to let him up, then bum rush him during transition, ref should let him.
