We got this1Up bike rack for my mother and it is by far the best one on the market. For reference, her bike is a 29er. www.1up-usa.com/product-categ...
Actually you can use this rack with bikes that have fenders. You just remove the bolt on the side where the spool will hit the fender. Next select a lower location where spool placement will not hit the fender and reinsert the bolt to mount the spool at this new location. Finally, place a strap around the wheel to fix it down on the rack if the spool is below the wheel. This will prevent the wheel from bouncing up if you hit a bump. I use elastic TPU tensioning straps with metal buckle, but many other straps will work.
Thanks for your review - it really helped when setting up our 1UP super duty rack for two bikes - love the ramp! Our bikes weigh 74 lbs each (they are monster fat-tire e-bikes) and with the ramp system, I can load and unload them by myself - and I'm a 67-year-old mom.
I was e-biking with 6 friends today. They were in 3 vehicles and had 2 bikes per vehicle. I loaded my 75 pound bike on the 1up rack in just a couple of minutes. They had racks with several parts, tie downs, etc. It took them at least 15 minutes to load their bikes. This was the first time they had seen the 1up, and were really impressed. I don’t have a ramp and that’s my next purchase.
Great review as I was in the same situation as your Mom not being able to lift my new heavy eBike onto the rack I already have so I just ordered this rack in black and the ramp. I also ordered the foam Fender Cushion accessory to protect my back fender and 2 wheel locks! Your detailed review helped me make my final choice on what rack to buy so thank you! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼🚴♀️
I just used my new super duty 2" hitch rack. IT REALLY NEEDS A BETTER WAY TO UNLOCK AND SWIVEL. 1up wants you to spend $90 more, on top of the $665-$715, for their extremely poor implementation of a latch and positioning thereof, that allows swinging rack up and down!
Thank you so m7ch!! I'm 62, 5 foot 4 like your mom. I just got my first ebike and ha e been searching for something that might work for me, really appreciate showing how the ramp worked. Thanks again
I have a Specialized Valdo electric bike and it has a back fender. The arm does fit on the fender and keeps it secure if you don’t mind the scratches on the fender. I’ve driven on long rides and the bike held in place.
Just what I have been looking for. Would you mind providing model #? Their website isn’t quite so easy to navigate. Also, I think you said the loading ramp was extra? Is there a model # on that? Really appreciate how thorough you were in the video.
Just to add to your comment about fenders. They have accessories for fenders. Both my ebikes have fenders and one is fat tire with fenders. Accessories work great.
You can still use this rack if you have fenders. It will just affect the back fender. You just have to adjust the spool a little lower, so it clears the fender when you swing the arm up to the tire. I have a Juiced E-bike with fenders and I just ordered a Quickrstuff Mach 2 bike rack.
Thank you sooo much for this video. I am under 5’ with an ebike. I researched all the major brands. This checked off all the boxes for me, from lightweight, tilt, ramp, USA product, lifetime warranty, foldable, simple, easy. Your video sealed the deal for me! Didn’t want anyone to help me on and off load my 24”, 46-54lb Pedego Comfort Cruiser.

You did your mom and me a solid. This helps me for sure
I agree. Just bought one a month ago. So easy and secure. So happy I found it.

Great little review! Very helpful.
Found this sooo helpful! Thanks. I'm in the same demographic as your mom, with the same heavy bike dilemma. Ordered my 1UP rack and ramp this morning.
