Does this change the default behavior of the button?
(always off @ start -> always on @ start)
Or does this allow it to “remember” your last setting when turning the car on/off?
I don't know why Toyota made it default to off, the car is gonna spend 95% of it's life on the streets running errands. If that's the case pushing the button every time is gonna get hella annoying very fast. Must've done that to appeal to the journalists and the geezers that don't get it. Nice vid 👍

Super weird to suggest NOT doing this and to just press a button every time they turn their car off for the rest of time.
Like yeah sure it’s not a big deal, but neither is the mod. This is an absolute must have no brainer ez mod imo if you use iMT.

Yes if you want it off. Just press the button again to turn it off.
I decided to just go outside and pop in harness in 😂 Literally took me less than five minutes

I installed mine and it didn’t work. I still need to push the button all the way time…
I installed it by just popping the side panel off and gaining access through there. Didn't have to remove the lower kick panel or switch panel at all!
Yeah I figured that out after the second time I took it apart. Oh well 😅
By the side panel do you mean the triangular panel to the left where for the GR plaque is telling you that you have a certain edition that you can see when you open the door? If yes, did you just pry it open with a plastic tool and it just pops out? Thanks

mine dont work ，light wont turn on，i did exactly same thing，maybe 2024 gr corolla is different？
It's possible that the '24s work different. But you also may have gotten a bad one? Mine went bad after a week. Amazon replaced it and haven't had an issue since.
The harness is more expensive than it needs to be, but since this is my daily driver I'm really happy with the convenience. Also, don't bother taking off the kick panel, just go in through the left side panel and it takes 30 seconds.
i think i must have gotten a dud. mine only works on first start up after plugging it in
Try letting it sit for a bit right after the initial turn off. See if it goes back to normal after maybe 10 mins
Mine does the same. But goes back to auto on after a bit

Install is much simpler than your method. Just pop the side panel off and reach in from the side. The panel removal tool, supplied with the part, is all you need. I agree that if you quickly stop and start the car, the function doesn't work. It is obviously a set on power up so the power needs to be cut by complete ignition system shutdown. Just stopping and starting the car doesn't power down the iMT switch power. The iMT backlight needs to go off to reset the Autoset device.
This harness is from Toyota Highlander according to the link on Amazon not for RAV4.

The pedal set up in the gr corolla sucks for heel toe. If you had one you’d know. Which makes me wonder why you’re watching if you don’t
