  • This is the story of my 10 day roadtrip through a country I never thought I’d visit, but could not be more happy that I did.
    Slovenia is one of Europe's most underrated travel destinations. It's full of diverse landscapes and fairytale-like places. I spent 10 days driving around the country and seeing as much as I could.

      @@livingthemoment6348 If you have no mountaineering experience you should avoid hiking in snow. There might be snow at higher altitudes in May. The weather can be very unpredictable the higher you go. Just assume there is still winter in the mountains in May. You need good boots and extra clothes in case it gets cold and windy. Also, if you really have no experience with mountains I would suggest not going above 1700m. And if you need to find a trail visit www.hiking-trail.net/. Go to list of mountains - Julian Alps - choose a mountain and check the trails and the difficulty. Everything that's not an easy way means you have to use your hands.

    I was there in Slovenia 🇸🇮 in late June and one thing that people should be aware of is that if you want to see waterfalls there, you have to trek for a mile or more to see it. It’s not like in America 🇺🇸 or Iceland 🇮🇸 where you can drive to a car park and the waterfall is in front of you. No you have to move your ass to see one

The majority of all accidents happens because of poor equipment and people not beind aware of the dangers of the alpine envirenment. In summer (rom june to september) is a lot otraffic jams on the highways between ausria, Italy and Croatia. Especially in saturdays. You have to buy vignetta for highways. On local roads isn`t so messy, just around main turistic places like Bled or Ljubljana (capital city). Now it si a little snowy (about 5-10 cm). It is ski season. Now it is nice time to visit Postojna cave, the longest cave with train and electric lights through about 8 km (5 miles). Temperature is about 10 deegrees. As it is whole year. 🙂

    Hi, could you tell me please where exactly is that viewpoint in Triglav Park (day 6)? And where did you park your car and started trekking? Thanks

      The trailhead is located at the top of Vrsic Pass opposite the main parking lot. Look for the large white sign with lots of stickers on it. There will be a sign post nearby with a red maker pointing towards Slemenova Špica.

      The places is stayed at were a mix of hostels and B&B's. I booked them all through AirBNB initially and payed the owner directly for a few more days.

    How do you get to Europe from Qatar? That is, what route does the plane take? Iran and Turkey?

    • @Synchrosk8r08
      @Synchrosk8r08  Před 5 lety +1

      Yes exactly, most flights I've taken have gone over Iran/Iraq and Turkey.

      there are direct flights from Quatar to Vienna, Austria and from there you can go by train to Slovenia. Before the pandemic there were direct flights to Zagreb, Croatia and from there by taxi or train to Slovenia. I am not sure about this one, you should check in with Quatar airways.
