WOW! that's my Dad and I in the video - 1996. Thank You Danny for putting this up, it was devastating to say the least when Fitzroy died. My parents would sing me to sleep with "we are the boys from old Fitzroy" and I was a member before i was born, went to my first match at 10 days old...

As a NMFC member and a kid at the time, I think every supporter from smaller Victorian clubs had a dagger stuck through our hearts when the Roys were disbanded.

Love a cheesy segment like this!! Micky Conlan just a great fella, the joy he brought the Roys fans back then was just incredible. Genuinely the Roys supporters were able to watch top top players every week in that area with Superboot, Micky, Roos, Ossy, Pert, Wilson, Harris... they were a great side. Criminal there wasn't a premiership in 1983 and were running on fumes by the prelim final time in 1986. Thanks for the upload
i remember listening to the radio as we didnt get live games in tassy and then i couldnt wait till the news later that day to see what id already made a moving picture in my imagination, i have tears watching this

Thought I'd return and revisit this video , brings me chils when I see the three of them out a the old VFL Park talking about that day, on the ground and in the stands , if would be great to bring back Fitzroy even it they return interstate

I was there with my Dad and Sister. Go Roys I will never forgive the AFL for killing them and taking a huge part of my life away. We are the Boys from old Fitzroy we wear the colours maroon and blue! x
