Ann I agree with you but King Charles and Prince William must be tempted to encourage Catherine to make a special effort on this occasion. I assume that if Catherine does attend the 3 children will be with her but if she decides against it then it is unlikely George , Charlotte and Louis will be on the balcony at Buckingham Palace.

She may just be too tired. Preventative treatment, or even a two year treatment, doesn’t always make you extremely sick, all hair falling out, etc..

People are really being petty. Chemotherapy causes hairless in some people,loss of weight etc. Even though there is rumor that she is up and about,how she looks might not be how she wants to present herself to the public. She does not need the pressure!!
If Princess Cathrine is still in treatment she should not be around strangers anyway becouse that kind of treatment destroys the good things in your body just like it destroys cancer

She had great difficulty when she was pregnant and it is possible she is not tolerating the treatments very well. Whatever she needs to do to regain her health and to be there for her family, she needs to be allowed to do without pressure to return to Royal duties.

I was at Trooping the Colors 2023 and saw the whole royal family . It was a great show.
Trooping the Colour is singular - not plural (and, being British, should be c.o.l.o.U.r). It relates to receipt and parading of a battalion's new standard or flag, which is also known as a "Colour". Each year one of the army's battalions is selected for the honour of receiving a new Colour. The old colour is normally laid up by being hung in the home church of the battalion afterwards. Battalion Colours/standards are embroidered with the names of all the campaigns/battles they fought in the course of their history. There are many hanging in St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle. The oldest are faded, tissue paper thin and much frayed relics of our military history.
I love that Prince William invited his cousins to the garden party. I know it’s his job as a Royal, but he’s also a husband and a father and a son, and I’m sure he’s feeling the pressure. Sometimes when I see photos of him, he looks so stressed even though he’s putting on a good front. So I’m glad he seems to have people to rely on. Wishing them well, I hope we get a glimpse of the Princess of Wales soon!

Please Brittany, would you stop saying that YOU think Catherine should appear on the balcony and that it's "only ten minutes" and would prove she is alive. I think that is radically diminishing the overall time it would take, the grooming, the travel etc. If she feels well enough to go through with it, great, if not, leave her alone. Also, it is supposed to be a tribute to KC3 & she may not appear out of respect for him. Imagine the media furore that might occur if she does appear. I have never seen her as a media hog unlike MM.

Even if she would make a short appearance on the balcony, those who troll and harrass her the most will immediately claim that they had a body-double doing it in her stead, and will call it a "fake appearance". I live in Spain and I don't like the way some of the journalists treat Queen Letizia. I think she has done a great job, Especially the way the two daughters have been raised. You were right about Juan Carlos, he was a very good King, but then did some things that ruined all his good work.

She is very loved but I kind of don’t want to see her on the balcony until she is back to her best self, there would be too much speculation and analysis if she looks unwell and she could do without that. It’s lovely that our American friends are so supportive.

Speaking as a Filipino... I didn't hear anything about this AT ALL until I saw this, which I think says a lot about the discretion Maxima took with this trip. Most of our headlines are filled with the territorial dispute with China and a hearing for a local politician, but normally a visiting foreign royal would be quite a blip on the radar.

Just a little thing Brittany, no mention of the third place getter of the Monaco Grand Prix, it was an Aussie! So glad to see the Australian flag there. We here in Australia are also proud of our Queen Mary, I think she could show Meghan a thing or too about adapting to living the Royal life. Not only did she have to learn a new language, but a whole new culture and traditions of the Danish people.

I don't know British law regarding a spouse sharing an inheritance given to their wife or husband. In the States, only the person named in the will has any right to it. Only earned income during the marriage is split and that is 50/50 in California.

I have something for you, you may or may not know of or remember. prior to the to the wedding of H and Meg, her brother sent Thomas Markle sent a letter to Prince H, it was published in the “ Sun uk” . It is two pages so be sure to scroll down to second page. It will send a shiver down your spine of the dark forecast to come. Too bad, he did not listen.
The Markles are all the same. It was her family that first started to criticise her and contradict her lies. Journalist picked up on this negativity from her family and that was the end of Meghan’s reputation. Her father her brother and sister were all rushing to the media to be interviewed. They all love attention. Why would Meghan be any different? The whole family is an embarrassment.

Brittney, I am loving the Crown Report because I like seeing all the royals and their work and less drama. The Grand Prix footage was fun and you could tell how proud the Monaco royal family were. Queen Maxima is always my favorite (although deep in the UN and WEF) because she is a well educated woman who speaks with some authority on finance and economics, and no word salad. As for Queen Letizia, she comes across harsh sometimes, but she is not fake and I appreciate that.

Kate is dealing with cancer and she’s fortunate to have unfettered and unlimited access to the best healthcare on the planet.
None of that negates the seriousness of the situation nor does it ameliorate the pain, nausea, depression, and general depletion of energy. Volunteer at a hospice or cancer ward cancer does not discriminate the outside trappings may look different but the inside is still being destroyed 😮

I had a friend that HAD to continue working during chemotherapy because she needed the health insurance provided by her job.
She wasn’t able to take months “off work” as Kate has done.
She would have lost her medical insurance if she’d taken several months off.
My friend would have LOVED to have the best doctors available and the time to really recover.

It’s a lot easier to deal with cancer when you don’t have to worry about paying bills, putting food on the table, caring for kids, ect.

I think it is mostly the fear of dying that is the worst. You can’t control if you live or die through cancer.
Yes I agree it is a blessing for her not to have some worries of basic necessities being handed and having access to top medical care. Truly she is lucky in that regard and I’m so relieved for her. But I’m so so terrified for her and her family. I’m so hoping she wins this battle.

Working Royals are privately funded. Taxpayers pay for security, admin and the cost of renovating buildings then used for tourism purposes. Charles made that statement about a slimmed down monarchy many years ago, and hasn’t actively slimmed it down since becoming King. A suggestion is that a slimmed down monarchy also reflected a time when the Duchy wasn’t as profitable as it is now for the community and the family. Regarding the Spanish Royals, nobody ever know what happens and the dynamics within any family because it is too personal. However, I think the old lady, Queen Sofia has had a terrible deal in her life being trapped in a terrible marriage and having to stand by her husband no matter what and in the end having to take a step back and hand over a role she did very well to her daughter in law because of her husband's behaviour. No matter what, all she was doing was posing for a picture with her grand daughters outside a cathedral, having just been to mass. Laetitia's behaviour was difficult to watch let alone defend. It was bordering on elder abuse. If she does that in public, I dread to think what she might be like when the cameras are not rolling. At the time Marie Chantal called out her behaviour and I was right behind her! As a relative she felt the need to speak out on this. Good for her!
