      What was the alternative? The Conservatives after 14 years of shambles mismanagement and failure to listen to the wider population outside London richly deserved the severe kicking they received. It will be interesting to watch as they try to resurrect a plausible opposition and then a trustworthy effective alternative government. There is no doubt many years to pass as they reshape and jettison useless ideas strategies and many people. Two or more terms they will be in the wilderness they afflicted on the party. Arrogant and deaf as they dug their graves.

    The United Kingdom's electorate are going to be extremely disappointed with their choice in prime ministers. Starmer is a privileged elite and is completely out of touch with the hard working middle class people of the United Kingdom. Only time will tell but I really do not seeing this turning out well for the British people. Sunak was bad enough but Starmer is far worse.

      @@stevengoundry7719the problem was that Saville raised huge sums of money for charity and he used this to fool the world, which was how he received his knighthood. It was only after he died that the world found out the truth. Just remember he was very cunning and knew how to hide the evil side of him from most people. Did you know the truth about him before his death? I didn’t and I am sure the majority of people didn’t either that was why it came as an appalling shock to most people when the truth came out. Try remembering that before you try to smear the King.

      They also won because Farage came out backing candidates who claimed women should be denied all medical treatment, who used racist slurs against other members of parliament, who praised - openly praised - Putin and claimed the UK was the reason Russia was forced into invading Ukraine (in fact Farage did this himself as well, definitely showing how much you love your country there, NOT) and who appear to think that the UK should be run like Putin runs Russia and Hitler ran Germany (for someone who claims to be ridding the area of ''nazis'' Putin is actually one himself in all but name)
      Given Putin is gloating over the far right wins all across Europe - being that way himself he knows that the more countries that vote in far right governments the more chance he has of winning the war as they will, do, support him and not Ukraine - it's encouraging to see that his political meddling HASN'T worked in the UK. Yet at least.

    Politicians will bend the way the wind blows, the King is very popular, as are the remaining loyal royal family, there's no reason to go against them, particularly when politics has been in such upheaval, the people want something that's bedrock in their lives, even those who didn't necessarily care about the monarchy were upset when the late Queen died.

GOD HELP you all, because we have the same problem with the labour govt here on Oz. Our current PM has leanings towards being socialist/ communist. It must be the same with all countries that vote in a labour govt. Our country has slowly been sucked down the gurgeler but we dont have long and we go to the polls and get rid of them.
