    Thanks a lot for your explanation.

    You’re the first I’ve seen to do this properly on CZcams. So much bad information out there.
    Making this compact and replacing the scale with an actual load sensor would also work.

      Thank you for your comment, you are very right. The last few frames of the video show two things, a load cell instead of a scale, and the “compact” gearing configuration that will be the most used option. The configuration and scale I demonstrated in the video is to explain the concept.

    quite a neat setup. i assume when the motor goes in the other direction you'd need another scale/load cell on the other gear?

    If the size of gears vary, as in the differential of the vehicles, will it affect the force, will the torque still be same as the product of force times length. Take if the grey gears are smaller than blue/red ones

      @dynamictorque6047  Před 10 měsíci

      Yes. It will always be the product of force times length

    Wouldnt the maximum torque be when the friction wheel is fully stopped?

    • @dynamictorque6047
      @dynamictorque6047  Před 7 měsíci +3

      Yes, the maximum torque would be when the friction wheel (output) is fully stopped. This is maximum “Static Torque”, because everything has come to a stop. At this point the scale would indicate the maximum “Static Torque”.
      However, if you want to measure “Dynamic Torque”, you would then control/vary the friction/load at the output (being careful not to bring everything to a stop). This can be done to measure the “Dynamic Torque” at any rpm.

    where did you get the mass of 314 grams?

      It was a value on the scale that I saw a lot during the filming of the video.
