When I was eight my uncle had a vanguard in two tone (cream & blue) which was very fashionable back then, and my Dad had a new Vauxhall Cresta in similar two tone colours..
I enjoyed your article in the SMC Review magazine, which led me here! Great to see your car, what a lovely beast that is! Look forward to seeing your progress with this car, thanks for sharing!
I had a 1959 estate as my first car and did three European trips in it. That oil pressure is far to high and needs to be looked at. I still have a few parts if your interested.
Parts are most welcome, thanks. I thought the same about the oil pressure but it soon settles to about 50. I am going to give the engine a thorough service in a future video; sump off to clean etc. It could be anything.
Theres going to be a fair amount of time spent laid on the ground welding that little lot up. Can you still get the inner and outer cills. There is a standard owners club . Still should be a tidy survivor when your done. Surprised how good the carpets appear to be.
Aye there's a big weld-athon ahead. Outer sills and wing repair sections available, the rest will have to be fabricated. I think the carpets are replacements.
Vanguard well looked after ? been well maintained ? have you no History ,paper work etc etc.....very interested ,mis fire could be dirty fuel in bottom of tank ? Aye Up Lad keep going a right champion need a brew now and slab of pudding 17.35 pm 26/11/2023...tnx 4 vidio
How long have you owned this car? My Dad had one when I was a youngster in the 1960s (RDM 209) and I've not seen one for many years, until I was walking the dogs in Jackfield, Shropshire in Feb 2015 when I saw this car parked in a pub car park (Black Swan, if you're interested). I have a couple of pics of the car (REG 2637 HK). It was a bit shinier then, but a good wash would probably bring it back. I hope you are planning on bringing it back to full working order. Good luck with the project!
I love all the British accents, so many variations of the same language on an island not imagined large enough to host so many variations. It's awesome and I love it 😁👍
Had one of these in the 1970's. SAD 268, ex funeral directors car. Lovely to see one again. Good luck with it 👍

Those Vauxhalls were nice cars.
Well done.Vanguards were lovely cars and it will be great to see this back on the road. (My May 1961 Minor is one of the last with trafficators)
Great work. It is amazing what a charged battery can do. So glad she is running, carby needs a bit of a fettle. All in all she looks a good car.
Yes, I should have read up on the carb first, as I now know there are some peculiarities of this Solex carb. To be covered in a future video.

Many thanks. There's a lot to do, but I shall persevere.
I knew she could do it. 👍

Aye it will see the road again. 15 keepers on the logbook so it’s been around. Cheers.
Can anyone out there explain how those static horn push/emblems work in a rotating steering wheel? It is driving me crazy trying to figure it out.
It's called a stator tube fixed at the steering box with inner and outer columns.
How to open the hood?
The model range became strangely complicated towards the end.
They were trying to keep up sales of a body design that was showing its age.
Might be the original radio which was an optional extra. Are you going to video restoring the car?
Yes, that is my intention. But the welding will have to be outsourced.
I'm narrowing down your accent to West Yorkshire - possibly Bradford. How far out am I?
About 30 miles west.
@@The_Car_Sanctuary Haha - no way. That puts you in Burnley!
