I love the old cars of the 50s and 60s. My Dad has a 1954 Morris Oxford Series II that he restored in the 90s (1 lady owner from new!), so I grew up going to classic car shows.
A little piece of nostalgia for me. My dad's first car was a black Standard Vanguard with round rear lights. The time period was around 1963/4. I'll ask my brother if he can still remember the reg number.
There is a catch which is operated remotely by a pull-cable inside the car, then you have to move a lever after popping the bonnet to release the safety catch.

Those Series II’s are good cars. Comfortable and pleasant to drive.

Really quite a well appointed car for the era. (I'm a year older than it, and if I sit too long I have trouble getting going. It has my sympathy)... 👍
