"Most people struggle with their inner demons, you shot yours in the face. Or at least distracted him long enough for the Admiral to do it."
Kuumaarke and the crew are gonna need some serious Counseling
The whole Lukari and Kintari people need counseling.
"Listen Harry, I know you're having a bad day, the lady over there is freaking out, but I have a several extra hoses in my head right now so my caring is very limited..."
I swear I enjoy watching this series as much as I enjoy watching new seasons of Lower Decks and SNW, thank you and keep up the good work!

Lmao
I know it's supposed to be this big dramatic moment but like it's really silly in practice.
The whole thing is actually one big in joke to how players reacted to seeing the Unimatrix Dreadnought for the first time. They were waiting for this moment.
The Aetherians timeing was too perfect. Call it a feeling that the Aetherians clear waters are still but run darker the deeper you go. I'll still remember the 48th Rule of acquisition. Bigger the smile, the sharper the knife.
Bingo. Bigger the smile the sharper the knife.
The Mirror Iconia---- ... Er, Atherians are definitely suss
Love that the similarity between V'Ger and the Unimatrix ships is finally acknowlaged.
we CANNOT be calling them B'gers :P
Multiple things here.
1. The Aetherians are gonna be a problem.
2. Kuumaarke's gonna be a problem.
3. I think it's time the Armiger got a major overhaul. (I'd also love to see his build, even if it's bad.)
$. I'm very, very glad I'm not the only one who thought B'ger sounded inappropriate :P
I feel like its less the Aetherians are going to turn out to be bad guys and more...they are going to play the overprotective and toxic parental figure for an adult. Basically be another iconian problem. Also Kuumaarke is going to need ALOT of therapy after this....I think she was just broken somewhat or atleast cracked a bit.
@@SuperGamefreak18 I get the feeling that the Aethers are their universe's version of the Borg. The most benevolent, but Borg are Borg. It's all that talk of togetherness and harmony.
And Ezri's the best person to help Kuumaarke. I'd turn her into a monster (Mirror Harry was supposed to be my kill!)
@@thejarredhog3936 hm that is true they so they are like a warped version of the borg corporative but were always that way a good theory
@thejarredhog 3936
B'ger is just too simple anyway. I prefer to call it scrap metal.
I agree the Aetherians are likely to be the end threat. Have to remember that the Mirror Borg were loosing the war so why would they require our assistance?
Yep the Armiger needs some upgrades to her weaponary.
Kuumaarke trauma is probably going to come back. That is pretty much the consistent fear with the borg an ally can quickly become an enemy drone.
@@horusrage best part they probably will try the alliance like a disobeying child and that scares me actually than be traditionally villianous
I love that they updated the hospital outfit when I did this mission the characters for that part were just in their normal clothing.
I switched to my Borg armor after being assimilated (damn that you can't combine the parts on the Taylor) well it gave Ezri's words a bit of an "Ehm" effect...😅
Really wish that the liberated Borg had some unique dialogue during it, it's something that seems like it would have been deserved there at the end if not at other poi
Poor Kuumarke, she started of bright eyed and innocent, full of excitement, innocence and curiosity. She's been put through the grinder.
What is surprising that she did not brake earlier. Also is it me or not that it might be a good idea to have a episode were us as players just break down. Because we been in war after war after war. With out a break. Even though for most of us we literally just came out from the academy or as a civilian.
@@submingunsubcraft9148 It was different now for Kuumaarke. Now someone who she knows and trusts, a person that saved her people, a good friend and person she admires - was trying to kill/assimilate her, totally ignoring her as someone familiar. One of her main pillars in life was crushed under the influence of nanobots, didn't react to her at all, and she couldn't do anything about it. She was even forced to shoot at him! in that moment she not only lost her friend, but was about to lose herself, and for a scientist there's nothing worse than to lose all her knowledge and one's ability to think freely. She cracked allright, hard...
And don't forget she was nearly assimilated herself way back when this new Borg came into the galaxy. Back in the very 1st episode of this They had captured her and had put her on a table to be assimilated
Agreed, she's got PTSD and should be essentially forgiven. Star Trek is always vague on the treatment of this. You would certainly think if they have transporter tech and warp drive, they can help PTSD in the 25th century and would be probably be mandating intervention for some people.
@@sleepingbackbone7581 And don’t forget her people just went to stars few years! She already see some most insane things happen in ST. The Hell(although it’s another race), ancient super civilization that wants to exterminate everyone, parallel universe and god like machine, in fact TWO god like machine. And now borg?
Two years ago, she was just a scientist working on a space station. Now, she become a military leader leading her people to fight against unimaginable things.
To be honest, if it were me, I would have collapsed long ago
You know you’re addicted to your videos when you start treating them like real life episodes of a tv show you like.
Not a bad thing considering. It shows the quality rick is putting in to the presentation. Something we can all appreciate.
I really like Ezri as a Captain and hope we can one day pay her back for saving our butts.
I might be jaded by modern writing... but Aetherians are too nice, definitively sus!
Also, that scene at 17:40 is hilarious if you play a character with Seven's Borg implants...
At worse I see the twist being they believe they need and have the right to play helicopter parent and slowly give you control or basically let other actually evil factions do the work for them. Like there’s probably a reason fluidic space doesn’t agree with them like someone put that on them to limit their spread.
Main toon is a liberated borg, I woke up still very much looking like a borg with implants. I do wish they would have put in a couple voice line changes to cover this. In the delta quadrant patrol missions one of the main missions involving the liberated borg actually acknowledged you as a liberated borg, would have been nice to see here.
Either way, any toon with implants already just gets more headcannon trama from being assimilated again
Yeah. The biggest twist would be the Aetherians turning out to be completely benign.
They trip the exact same red flags as a lot of people get from the federation, though, and the federation is actually mostly as it seems. I dunno, it's really hard to tell...
I do hope the Armiger gets a certain near-legendary upgrade. Poor girl looks like she's going to need it.
I just don't like how the torpedo pod and its tower mess up the silhouette/outline, y'know? Unfortunately, the visible lance on the saucer's underside is actually part of the Lexington secondary hull, which has the torpedo pod built in.
Ha ha that name "The mirror Borg made a B'ger"
azer hahahaha!!!!!
maybe the armiger gets some serious tech upgrades after this mission? i imagine admiral mark hale does not want to be on the broad side of a borg flagship anytime soon!
I like the fact that even though the event will be over the episode will still be around for us to play when we get around to playing the missions.
What I mean is, I don't play the story missions during the event when they happen I normally play them later so I'm glad that they keep them in the game so that I can continue the campaign mission.
I'm just wondering about this.
Does anyone think those Aetherians are hiding something like, oh I don't know... a knife behind their back?
It just sounds like they are too much of a good thing when they appeared.
Plus I do hope that poor Kuumaarke gets help before she goes bonkers and becomes a problem/your next opponent.
"Through harmony, we are secure. Through Unity we are strong." Whats the bet that this is something akin to the Mantle of Responsibility...?
Forerunner reference, Nice.
Holy shit! Your ship is taking a beating in the title card.
I was in legendary D'deridex with mk XV gear and had to ask a friend to assist with the unimatrix ship eventually. It's difficult fight mostly because of the overuse of regenerator and tractor probes.
It's definitely the Iconians.
Interesting but doubtful the Iconians had six eyes these "NEW ALLIES" only have two eyes.
@@burningflamesofdivinedragon The Iconians turned themself into _energy beings_ for the luls.
Pretty sure they can choose how many eyes they have.
@@christopherg2347 When did that happen?
@@Timberwolf69 Somewhere in the hundreds of thousands of years between stealing the heart and them re-appearing.
Definitely energy beings in the present.
Definitely organic in the past.
@@christopherg2347 Makes me wonder, how can a bat'leth hurt or even kill a being of energy?
Ricky your on form my friend and even Jimmy seems to be happier now days without my "JAR ANTICS" 😂
Incase I stop watching midway through for awhile, that new series intro kicked ass.
Finished and a great conclusion to a long, three parter.
So, we have defeated the Kingdom's plans, be the skin of our teeth, only to give the Aetherians at a foothold at the multiversial intersection.
Your approach to this whole series has been so incredibly thoughtful and constructive. Never stop crushing it x
Going with two future predictions: Kuumarke has been affected by her earlier encounter with the borg earlier on in the mission series, maybe even partly assimilated and not knowing it. Second one is I think our new allies are actually Borg, but Borg who evolved way beyond what our or the Kingdom Borg have reached.
I can't wait to see how this whole thing with Mark Hale going forward is going to affect him. Looking forward to seeing all of it.
An enjoyable fourth part to this mission. Though it still leaves great intrigue as to status of the Borg Kingdom, Undine, & Aetherians.
7:10 ; Personally, I head-canon that repair ability as 25th century Starfleet reverse-engineering Borg & Undine regeneration nanotech and having it be a precursor to starships being grown in the 26th century.
10:20 That's a hard fight with XV gear too (that's not pay-to-win dps). Plus, the Borg reengineering V'ger/C'qur tech and the two having separate origins, rather than one creating the other like some theories have it, makes more sense.
Mark Hale should probably head to either an Earth farm or Risa while seeking therapy until the next mission.
"Hale as a mission to cling to." "Cling to" IE, something to help him ignore the fact, for the moment, he's been mentally and physically violated on a level many dare not grasp.
Absolutely Awesome story thank you for sharing this with us 🖤❤️🖤❤️🖤❤️🖤
Fantastic episode, can’t wait for the next chapter
I love designs of the Starfleet ships. They're beautiful, sleek vessels.
Not going to take for granted my very upgraded gear on my ship, i was able to punch through the unimatrix repair abilities and it was still a tough fight
Thanks a lot for this Rick and I hope you're feeling better soon.
I love Ezri and Harry teaming up.
Also crazy theory are the Aetherians an alternate reality Borg? The whole unity thing seems suspicious.
Nicole and Garrett are very good friends IRL, so that may be part of it, but totally agree they make a great team.
A Borg assimilated V'Ger, while being a plot hole the size of Wisconsin, would make for a pretty badass movie IMO. Think of how terrifying that could be, just absorb-similating entire planets.... As a fan of both TMP and FC, I think a movie merging the two in a fanservicy schlockfest would be my kind of Star Trek movie.
People wondered about an assimilated Iconian for ages, and then the Excalbians made it happen accidentally. I'm a little concerned to speculate about an assimilated god-probe in case the Excalbians decide to run some more trials playing with nanoprobes. :P
Its testament to how well you use the free use music. When I watch other videos and hear some of these tracks I get whiplash cause they snap me back to specific scenes in your episodes. Jarring at times but humorous. Well done Rick.
Sometimes I struggle with my Demons. Other times we just snuggle.
You should get some isomags or fleet spire consoles so your damage will be higher
Always looking forward to more STO updates.
your videos mean so much to me thank you so much for trying to expand the ST universe
Reminds me of the vorlon planet killer from b5, but more round
Not to sound boring but I feel you should change the outside looks of your oddy or get the lexy . To show and broadcast that in these time with the Borg kingdom , Starfleet has updated the ship to deal with the fight or say they have retired your ship for a new one due to the hull stresses and damage to the core frame something anyway
I'm not saying it was Iconians.
But...
It was Iconians.
Oh, it's most definitely the Iconians.
@@zazaranger5 Isn't it always the Iconians?
@@Timberwolf69 those Etherians are most definitely some form of Iconians, dont forget that they have time/ dimensional portals
@@zazaranger5 Iconians are unable to travel through time.
Their portals are capable of bridging ridiculous amounts of distance, though. And into other dimensions, also, I guess.
@@Timberwolf69 then they're Mirror Iconians
Yeah, it kinda confused me when they were acting so surprised when he 'B'ger' showed up..I was thinking 'Um, isn't this the same Unimatrix ship we've seen several times before, particularly in TFOs? (then again, I had the same reaction to C'ger in the first place...namely, 'Isn't that just a Unimatrix?')
Meanwhile...picking B'gers...
Loving this series.😊
My silly butt over here who has been shipping Hale and Kuumaarke for a bit now, imagining how traumatic that must have been for her.
This is super cool I hope to see more from you as the story series continues overall.
Star Trek online usually takes a year, sometimes even two years to update with new episodes. And if it stops development all together, we can blame Craptic, i mean Cryptic
@@NightridingDoom I am well aware as I've been playing the game for about seven years now.
@@burningflamesofdivinedragonyhea it felt like you were new. eh.
8:56 Good news. If it was a true V'ger, we'd all already be dead. So that means we have a fighting chance.
Perfect title because my captain is named V'ger :D I understood C'qer as I played the mission. And when turned Kim so Toxic? I hope Kumarke can understand that the Player Character didn't wanted to harm her and can somehow not get destructed by her expirience...
I would see the Iconian War, the Tzenketh war and the H'qur invasion, and now watching an alternate version of himself as the Borg King really did a number on his mindset. Probably also heard the last time the Undine affected someone he cared about (i.e. Tuvok)
@ielheilmann7351 don't forget he already met himselft as a semi Transformed and ... former Dead self in the Delta Quadrant
he had it quite rough
@@enisra_bowman He HAS been confronted with more messed up reflections lately that most people, definitely.
She'll know, but there's a gap between knowing it wasn't your choice and the gut-terror of seeing her friend soul-stripped and dead-eyedly advancing on her, unaffected by pleas and weapons fire, about to strip her mind and body away from her, as well.
Can you do an episode where, after the dealings in this series, you have been ordered to Starbase 1 for some tech upgrades or even where you are given command of a newer ship entirely?
You could then do some filler partol missions where you are basically giving her a shake down before the next chapter drops.
Very neat.
Imagine how Kuumaarke would have reacted to seeing her mirror self get shot in the chest? Also, I still don't trust the new aliens.
it was funny when my life sub character liberated borg was told by capt dax no more borg implants when his orginal borg implants are still there or getting assimilated by the borg kingdom it was as funny when octanti form the delta quadrant frekking out that i am a borg done and the whole liberation thing good videos keep up the good work capt fair winds and smoth sailing.
"Oh, er, not that one! That's the occular implant I've been using to see since I was freed, and not that one either, I actually need that original cortical node..."
...So anyone remembers the Borg Uinimatrix missions way back when? (Are those still a thing in the game?) I used to do those a lot back in the day...
I believe the Borg Uinimatrix are still in the game only as bosses though.
Those are also things that show up as the boss for the Borg Red Alerts
I'm not entirely sure if Kumaarke shooting mirror Kim is something that qualifies as an in cold blood one there, he was still functional and, probably, regenerating while buying time for more reinforcements to be ready to beam in
not to mention he might have been about to reveal large plot things, if he wasn't just trying to mess with us, so really the laws of narrative made her kill him. :P Either way, our pinkest pal is really messed up.
@@thomasjoychild4962 Well, it seems that she's in counseling between that episode and the new one according to the meeting with her at the beginning of the mission
@@AzraelThanatos ah good!
I think it is time to upgrade your ship.
25th century Harry Kim in this arc gives me 2293 James T. Kirk vibes, in some ways.
Time for the Armiger to become a Lexington good sir? She took quite the beating and a spinal phaser lance wouldn't go amiss...
Id suggest that ship has a major overhaul. I went in this mission with my Crossfield Class and never had have to pull back to repair. Needs work on the shields and hull restoration
Oh god, this bit took me so long on Elite...
Hope someone has some Romulan Ale after this fight, we're gonna need it. Dax place a subspace call to Quark.
Pretty much all of Starfleet has Borg-related trauma by now. Meanwhile, we need a Picard to negotiate with the Undine.
And keep an eye on the _Harmony_ . I distrust things that seem too convenient, and they were there instantly.
Bingo things were way too convenient when it came to the Harmony arriving.
I do wonder how that ending and the comments about the surgery come out if you were a reformed Borg to begin with. :-)
Your AAR for this event is very interesting, but raises some fairly concerning points. The timing of the Aetherian's arrival in that pocket anomaly is just one in a long line of issues highlighted here; and like most I can't really offer any help with that, but there is one problem I can: You once promised a tour of the Armager, I'd like to take you up on that, and to drag my chief engineer along too. There's been a few system refinements for the Yorktown class since Armager was launched, and we've made a few non-standard modifications to the Aylesford that you might also find interesting. Kind regards.
What the hell was that corscrew maneuver early in the video? I've never seen that before in STO! Looked great!
Pilot Class manoeuvres that I picked up because they look cool! It's from a skill tree in the specialisations section.
@@CertifiablyIngame It's better than optimised, it's cool :P
I think you're going to need the remnants of the iconians to help you LOL. It's that or I would thoroughly enjoy them kicking us back to the Stone Age and Q coming out of nowhere and giving us one more chance to fix everything. Then again I would really like to see them do some exploration missions as you said at the end the past couple years have just been War.
Well, apparently we're meeting some alternate-universe Iconians next episode and they'll be much friendlier than the ones we're used to.
The Borg King is a real son of a B'ger! 😅😅😅
It's meant to be a joke, but it's probably not my best one.
Terrible! Experience Bij! :P
Dex"I have to say. borg modifications weren't a good look for you"
my (fake now real) ex-Borg Romulan with borg modifications.-"wow rude much"
If V'ger mission is to travel other spaces dimensions and whatnot, then eventually they will need to use the fludic space interconnection.
Now in fludic space their digitalizer projectiles might be uneffective as it would hit the fluid and they cannot possibly digitalise the entire universe like that. Still we can see that their design CAN traverse the space itself though. So it could end up in a stalemate where you are brought in again.
One more thing, this new happy race would probably opose V'ger, as it is a concentration of things, what they seems to hate. Thes seems to endorse diversity. So we could see them spark an agression towards it, triggering mirror V'ger into action.
Lukary could even end up joining them as she might see V'ger data gathering similar to borg assimilation too.
All and all there are plenty of future events that would be fun to explore the morality and which sides to take, and while V'ger is at least galaxy level threat, the happy race told that they a galaxy wide civilization so they could have the resources to fight against a V'ger, especially if the undine are with them. To me the Undine seems to be a universal level race, the borg kingdom seems to be multy galaxy level.
Against all that, the primary actors of Star treck are still surgical strike people with lots of lots of plot armor :D
Yeah as soon as the Atherians showed up i thought there was something wrong with them. The Borg Kingdom seem to be bad guys but I was expecting some of their data to say something about the Atherians to explain what was happening
Why do I get the feeling that the borg kingdom aren't the real threat? Maybe even not entirely the bad guys, like maybe they're invading to prevent something worse in a strange borg logoc, upgrade everyone so that they're stronger and can fight off the true threat.
Who in here thinks that Undine sounds like a Cylon of the original Battlestar Galactica?
while I love these episodes of STO I think they need to add another constant subplot like the Iconians were maybe on a smaller scale but I'd be interesting to add a bit more mistery
I'm going to repeat something from another post here. My money/EC is on the Preservers being somehow involved in this like in Disco 5
Its possible, but the Preservers that we know were killed in the Iconian War. There might be Mirror Preservers but they might not be as benevolent as the Prime version
Having never played this game, can I ask those that do, is it a fully open galaxy? For example, can you use the Bajoran wormhole and travel to the Gamma Quadrant?
Yes, you can use the Bajoran wormhole to travel to the Gamma Quadrant and yes STO story is well worth your time It is really good.
yes and no: it is "open" but you have submaps for the quadrants but you can use the wormhole ... only that the Gamma Quadrant is a bit disapointing since you can't do much there, even that it's granted since it's still Dominion domain
And you the map overall isn't that much larger than what we've seen in Star Trek so far so, nothing like the Shackelton Expanse in the Star Trek RPG (a region "east" of the typical Fed-Space)
Im still convinced that here is something between Hail and Kuumaarke XD
*edit: spelling
Confined? 🤔 You don't mean convinced, by any chance?
I begin to wonder..... Will we encounter the rest of Mirror Voyagers assimilated Crew as Kings/ Queens and do we have to fight them all as well?
Borg King Tuvok?
Borg King Tom Paris?
Borg Queen B'ellana?
etc.
THAT would be funny.
The Aetherians are a level five civilization with the ability to travel the multiverse, and just so happen to arrive to help at a very convenient moment. Call me paranoid all you like, but I have played to many videogames and watched to much Sc-fi to know that the Aetherians are not to be trusted. and not to mention our character is probably seeing all the red flags too, considering the sheer amount of different types of conflicts they have fought in as well as the times they've been betrayed or had an enemy become friend.
did they do a update that added a story arc!?
I wish the Armiger could get the endeavor nacelles back and the Odyssey pylons. I like those better. Also at least get the Lexington torpedo console, Akira Consoles and the maelstrom quantum torpedos as you really need the massive barrage to even the odds.
I'd like to see the Armiger get a Lexington refit
I see the title and I'm scared. Really scared.
Don't be, I take one down every day there's a Borg Red Alert.
I mean by this point the player character has taken down the mirror V'Ger with Traveler Crusher powers. A B'Ger is nothing on that
7:15 head canon it as nanites renewing ablative Armour?
Wonder what the next chapter on this story line is
Are you going to update your ship?
I think mark hale is goijg to need one *Large* bottle of romulan ale after this
i heard you can get a drink at Quarks with Romulan Ale, Raktajino liqueur and Grand Marnier, i think it's called "the Kithomer Alliance"
@@enisra_bowman That's a form of cultural exchange I can wholeheartedly get behind!
Wait, you are using Mark 12 space gear?!
Lorewise you should be running at Mark 13 or 14.
its very expensive to do anything above 12, as it takes a great deal of tech upgrade modules and dillithium. i can only imagine mark hale puts some in after this mission tho.
Mk12 is perfectly fine for normal diff

ah sto speed running generational trauma for the trek verselol
It kind of ironic at the end I mean is in the Star Trek voyage in the episode the scorpion that in plot line in the episode that they make a deal with the Borg to help fight the undine
And at the end they betrayed them but in the Star Trek online episode of the Borg kingdom the role of it swap that instead of they making a deal with the Borg they make a deal with the undine to fight the Borg and they didn’t betray at the end it pretty ironic in the mirror versus.
It would be awesome if the devs left the option to keep some evidence of being assimilated. Like showing a bit of borg technology still on the player but more like just a cut or crack on the skin. Kinda like the Renegade Shepard effect form mass effect.
You get the Borg implates from this mission as a custom option just go to the tailor and select uniform.
The devs giving the player choice? That's crazy talk, but if you've got your heart set on it your implants become available in the tailor when you complete the mission.
@@burningflamesofdivinedragon I still prefer the baseline liberated borg ones, more integrated looking and less large cables to get snagged on things :P but yeah, the implants you can get from the mission are decent.
