I’m a huge Newcastle fan, the whole of Newcastle idolise shearer and the football community know how much we love him but it makes me sad to know that Shearer is a rude person in reality. I’ve heard from a few different people who share similar stories of him being completely stuck up and making everyone know he’s above them. Someone I know was hired to do some renovations to his house and when they addressed him as Alan he’d say “thats Mr Shearer to you”. He’d never offer a drink, give out a thank you for anything even once the job was done or ever crack a smile. It’s so disappointing, one of the best things if not the best things about Newcastle is being a community, being kind, having a laugh and being down to earth no matter who you are. He was my idol growing up. Now it’s just annoying to think people believe his front of being a “nice bloke”.
To me shearer is the best footballer ive seen play the injuries sustained to score goals and keep playing he was my footballing hero then you actually realise hes not a very nice person breaks your heart it just does

Was my favourite footballer as a kid. Not sure about him as a person. Has his favourites. Doesn't like foreign players. Don't think he liked Ginola, Laurent Robert, Gutierrez, Coloccini etc.
